Dear IVSA Members,
Hope that you are all doing well and enjoying your selves.
I am glad to annouce to you that the EO Bulletin for the months of December and January
are finally here!!
Since this is the first EO Bulletin in the Year of 2015 I will like to
start by wishing to all of you a happy New Year and I hope that we
will get to work with each other even more in the upcoming months.
On belahf of all the Exco we wish you a great year full of happiness
and atchivements.
We have been back from the 63rd Symposium in the UK for over a month now and I would
like to express our recognition to the Organizing Committee for all the hardwork they have
put in order to host all the delegates from all over the wold.
Many thanks go to the fabilous OC for a marvellious Week full of joy and knowladge.
I would like to thank all of you that were present in the UK and have contributed to the
wonderful journey we had.
The key to great work and success is creativity and motivation, so don’t hesitate to come up
with your own unique ideas and share it with the rest of us, team work is highly
recommanded.
Be curious look for information check IVSA website and facebook pages there are so much
opportunities that you can benefit from.
This EO Bulletin will be a little bit longer than the previous once as we have many
information and opportunities to share with you.

1. Feedback from the 63rd Symposium in UK&Ireland
(13th-20th of December):
 I would like to present to you our new President-Elect, Mr Anil Turer, from Turkey.
He is our current Public Relations Coordinator, he used to be the president of IVSA
Istanbul and he was in the Organizing Committee of the 62nd IVSA symposium in
Istanbul and Ankara. He is highly motivated, he has a lot of experience and he is so glad
to be the future president of IVSA starting September 2015 until September 2016.
You can read his presentation in the IVSA Winter Newsletter which will be published in
February.
 We have a newly-elected Chairman of ScoVe as well, Mr Theofanis Liatis
He is a member of IVSA Thessaloniki, Greece and until last year he was the
Veterinary Public Health Director in the ExCo
 I would like to adress a big welcome to the new Member Organizations that got
accepted during the General Assembly in the UK.

 We are so happy to welcome you in our IVSA Big Family, and we wish to help you
provide the best experiences for your students and we hope that you will find all that
you are looking for as Veterniary students in our association. We know how difficult
it could be to start working within IVSA, it could be a challenge for all the New
Member Organizations that’s why I think that it will be really great if our old
experienced Member Organizations could offer some help and give some advices for
our new Member Organizations

 For all the delegates who attended the 63rd Symposium, I would like to let you know
that an Evaluation questionnaire will be soon available and I will be sending you the
link.So please ,I would like you to take some time and fill it .
This will help us; both OC and ExCo improve the next IVSA events, and offer our IVSA
members the best that we can.
2. Future IVSA Events:
a. 64th IVSA Congress in Romania (From the 27th of July until the 8th
of August 2015):
Dear members,
The 64th Congress in Romania is our next appointement, the OC is doing it’s best to make
your presence in Romania as comfortable and fruitful as possible.
The itinerary is being finialized and it looks really awsome.
Please save the date: From the 27th of July until the 8th of August.
The application period will soon start:
The priority application period for the Exco, Presidents and EOs will start on the 1st of
March.
IVSA is a big happy family and you get to discover that when you decide to participate in the
international IVSA Congresses and Symposium. Don’t wait for too long before you decide to
attend an international event because you will be surprised by the amount of work that IVSA
is doing to benefit its members and of course it will be an amazing opportunity to see again
all your IVSA friends, and to get to meet new once.
We can’t wait to see you this summer.

b. IVSA Week Event in Istanbul and Greece (From the 22nd of April
until the 1st of May):

It’s time to apply for the IVSA Greece-Turkey week event.
We know how hard it is to become a vet and we would like to offer you a wonderful

a. The World Small Animal Veterinary Association Corner:
The World Small Animal Veterinary Association's mission is to foster the exchange of
scientific information between individual veterinarians and veterinary organizations.

“The World Small Animal Veterinary Association (WSAVA) is an organization for
veterinarians BUT they are helping students by setting up reduced fee spots for students to
attend their annual congress in Bangkok from the 15th until the 18th of May 2015.
The congress will be a great opportunity for sudents to enhance their veterinary education
by way of a cutting edge scientific program and stimulating exchange of knowledge and
experiences with the world's foremost veterinarians.
WSAVA is offering 10 free registration spots to IVSA members in exchange for a little help
during the congress. The help will include manning the WSAVA booth and helping during

4. The External Relations Officer corner
A final Reminder for the FVE Survey that was published in the previous EO Bulletin the
deadline is 31 January 2015.
Dear Veterinary students,
Please take 5 minutes to fill out a short survey developed by the Federation of Veterinarians
of Europe (FVE) and the International Veterinary Student Association (IVSA). Our
organizations are working together to analyze the future veterinary labor market in order to
explore opportunities for vets and secure a healthy future for our profession. We need your
help!
The responses we receive from different countries will give us a better understanding of the
distribution of veterinary resources around the world, identify areas of need, and ultimately
help you as future veterinarians decide how to orientate yourself!

5. The Public Relations Coordinator corner:
Writing an article for IVSA Winter Newsletter:
The IVSA Winter Newsletter is already in preparation, and it will be published in February
2015. So we have chose to ask you to write an article in which you will tell us all about your
school and cites we want you to promote for your city by sharing some photos and writing a
few words, you can use pictures from your group exchanges and you can use some of your
friends’ feedback about your city to express the beauty of your city.
If you feel like you want to share your experience with all the IVSA Member Organizations,
don’t hesitate to write the article and don’t forget to put some pictures.

We will only chose the Top 3 articles to publish them in the Newsletter, remember this will
influence your scoring for the TOP EO comepition as well.

any changes due to the further events you have attended or you orgonized please feel free

6. The Development Aid Director corner:

a. Development Fund Grant (DF Grant):
Dear IVSA members,
Happy new year all! I am pleased to announce the Development Fund grant is now open!
The aim of the grant is to benefit as many veterinary students as we can.
Any student body from a teaching faculty can apply. The applications will remain open until

b. Development fund competition (DF competiton):
For those who weren't at symposium we have a COMPETITION to announce.
This year we want to award the 2 top Member Organizations (1 from a high GDP country and
1 from a low GDP country) that will raise the most money for the development fund.

c. MAH –IVSA Scholarship &travel Grant program:
To promot the global exchange of ideas and culture, and to improve veterinary education
worldwide, the International Veterinary Students’ Association provides annual grants for
individuals to gain international experience. Through the MAH-IVSA Scholarship & Travel
Grant Program, IVSA annually provides between 50 and 100 scholarships of $500-$2000 for
veterinary students to use for their educational needs,such as traveling abroad to gather
valuable experience with veterinarians in a different country to their own. Through these
self-built or provided programs, student members are able to obtain valuable knowledge
and training in a different perspective to their local backgrounds.
The next and final application period for the MAH scholarship will run from:

a. The Standing Committee on Veterinary Education (SCOVE):
Dear IVSA Members,
The IVSA SCoVE Committee is delighted to present you with our new student resource
website IVSA EDU+ http://ivsascove.wix.com/eduplatform. This website integrates the online
veterinary resources collected by SCoMTE and SCoVE the past few years. It is easy to
navigate, with topics divided by species, as well as diverse topics such as business
management resources and great social media to follow!
The best part about this website is it created to be molded and grown by YOU, the student.
You can add your websites that you use for growing and studying in veterinary medicine, in
order to help better others! We hope you enjoy the website and find it useful!

b. The Standing Committee on One Health (SCOH):
1. SCOH Call for New Local Veterinary Public Health Officers:
The Standing Committee on One Health (SCOH) calls every Member Organization to elect to
their boards a Local Veterniary Public Health Officer (LoVPHO).
Since 2013, More than 20 Member Organizations started this position, and almost all have
held public health/One health projects.

2. WVA/WMA Global conference on One Health:
WVA/WMA GLOBAL CONFERENCE ON ONE HEALTH
The World Veterinary Association (WVA) and the World Medical Association (WMA) in
collaboration with the Spanish Medical and Veterinary associations are inviting you to
participate at the Global Conference on 'One Health' Concept to be held on 21st and 22nd of
May in Madrid, Spain.
The Global Conference aims to bring together Veterinarians, Physicians, Students, Public
Health Officials, NGOs and others from the different world regions to learn, discuss and to
address critical aspects of the 'One Health' Concept.

to achieve closer collaboration between Physicians, Veterinarians and all appropriate
