Emerging Leaders
The One to Watch
Amy Gordiner-Regan
With more than 20 years of global marketing experience, Amy Gordiner-Regan, the CEO of Skinfix has the pedigree
required to turn a $5 million company in 2014 into a $100 million company by 2017. Her goal is not far-fetched, bringing
revenue projections to $25 million for 2015. She is in the process of proving herself capable of quadrupling revenues in a
single year. Amy continues to take what was once a small family-owned business, which only sold at local drugstores, to
pharmacies and retailers across North America and, potentially beyond.
Leader of tomorrow
Katrina MacLean
Katrina is the owner of her family business Darby's Old Church Kitchen and President of the Little Narrows Community
Development Association which fosters opportunities for socializing and building community spirit. Katrina is a Junior
Achievement alumni and has maintained her status as a full time scholarship student at Saint Mary's University. She is a
Residence Assistant, a Fusion Mentee and prominent peer leader. Katrina has become a true champion of JA, not only by
her personal success, but by spreading awareness of JA in her daily life.
Veronica MacIsaac
Early on in her experiences with JA, Veronica realized she could achieve whatever she put her mind to; fast forward a few
short years later, Veronica started her own business - Veronica MacIsaac Apparel. Using her incredibly talented and
creative mind, Veronica designs, creates and sells a popular line of Tartan and Celtic creations. Her international
reputation and her uber-impressive runway designs have taken her and her work to Montreal, New York, Switzerland,
Scotland, and beyond. She has participated in some of the most dynamic Celtic fashion shows, military tattoos, and
cultural events that exist in the world today. One of her designs was also featured on the Vogue Italia website.
Leader Support Agency
George Buckrell, RBC
In 1983, George Buckrell, as the AGM for Royal Bank, Atlantic Canada arranged a meeting that directly contributed to the
success and longevity of Highliner Foods Inc. The Federal Government wanted to take over one of the area’s largest
fishing companies, when a private sector solution was available to restructure National Sea Products. George arranged
meetings with the right people and helped persuade them to provide the necessary bank financing going forward. He
became an advisor to the team and provided helpful insights and advice during the proposal phase. The Royal Bank
remains the company’s banker and has participated in financing its growth to sales exceeding a billion dollars US. George
went on to higher offices in the bank, but without his help and assistance, Highliner foods Inc. would not exist today.
