Cardinals Win 8th Straight, Victory over
Cubs Pushes Redbird Record to 20-6
Chicago Cubs had a dream of
shrinking the St. Louis lead in the
National Central, arriving with a 3.5
-game deficit.
The dream was as valid as my
hitting the lottery and donating the
full amount to Exxon to ease their
financial pain. St. Louis now leads
by 6.5 and will probably push the
Cubs back another full game after
the conclusion of a four game series.
The redhot Redbirds have won
20 of 26 games so far in 2015. At
this pace St. Louis would finish
around 125-37. Of course this will
not occur, Detroit once began 30-5
and, as a part-time instructor of
handicapping at Clark County
Community College in Las Vegas I
told the class to go against the Tigers when they are favored by
+150 or more because they will be
a .500 team the rest of the season
- and were.
Pittsburgh has lost four in a
row, and the doubleheader between Arizona and Colorado brings
together clubs that have a combined eight game losing skid.
The White Sox ended a five
game losing skid with a 5-2 victory
over Detroit and Chris Sale will
pitch the Sox to back-to-back wins
today.
Houston was scoring like gangbusters in its 10-game wining
streak, now the Astros have
dropped two in a row
- yet still
lead the 2nd place Angels by six
games in the American League
West.

Only Four Major League Teams Actually
Possess a Proven Home Field Advantage
Again why don’t I post road
and home statistics in baseball?
Victories come in streaks and site
really doesn’t matter.
Of the 30 major league baseball teams, a home field advantage can be traced to four
teams, St. Louis (13-2), New York
Mets (12-3), Kansas City (10-4)
and Minnesota (10-5).
The White Sox are 7-3 which
is not yet a clear definition while
the remainder of major league
teams are either close to .500 or
suffering the kind of season that
led to Milwaukee changing managers (a miserable 4-11).
For as long as I have studying
sports handicapping there has never been a solid reason to fall “in
love” with home teams in any sport
(baseball,
basketball,
football,
hockey or curling.)
The road is the key to success.
