PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE
We have come to the end of an extremely busy and long term. The majority of
our learners have done extremely well and others have tried their very best.
Some children need to work much harder. You may collect your child’s report on
Friday when school ends at 12 o’ clock. It is IMPORTANT that you do collect the
report, if not your child can feel devastated that you are not showing any interest.
Friday 17 April
Tuesday 5 May
Saturday 6 June
School closes for April Holidays at 12h00 (End Term 1)
School opens at 07h30 (Term 2)
SOAP BOX DERBY: COMPULSORY ACTIVITY FOR ALL
REPORT CARDS
School reports for learners may be collected from the class teacher on Friday when school ends at
12h00. Report cards may not be given to learners. If as parents you are unable to collect in person,
you may send an email / note to the class teacher giving permission for another adult to collect the
report card. Reports that are not collected will be kept in the Aftercare Department for the duration of
the April holiday period. Please note that in instances where school fees are in arrears, report cards
will be available for collection from the Bursar and not from the class teacher.
SCHOOL HOLIDAY UPDATE
School closes for Term 1 on 17th April, and re-opens for Term 2 on 5th May.
WINTER UNIFORM UPDATE
Winter uniforms are compulsory from Term 2. The children wear a tracksuit as winter uniform with
the long sleeve green crew neck shirt. Warm winter jackets may be worn with the tracksuits. ONLY
school shoes or white or black sports takkies on PE days may be worn with tracksuits (NO TOMY’s).
Please remember that if it is freezing cold, tights, thick socks and warm vests may be worn
underneath the tracksuit jackets and we also have the bomber jackets available. The black school
shoes are to be worn on the days that the children do not do sports, it is our formal uniform. All
schools have a formal uniform. It teaches our children to be proud of their school.
Mrs. Coetzee will explain to the Grade 7’s what they will wear as winter uniforms.
HAIRSTYLES
We have uniform and hair inspection daily. Some learners are disobeying school rules regarding their
hair. All the rules and policies relating to conduct, and school uniforms (which includes hair styles)
are also in the school diary and appear permanently on the D6 school communicator; and also appear
in our newsletter weekly.
As a reminder: long hair must be tied up. The girls are to have no hair extensions, and boys may not
have fancy patterns (zig-zag or other patterns) or shaved sides with long bits of hair on the top; and
NO MOHAWKS, DREADLOCKS or HAIR EXTENSIONS are permitted.
Extensions really damage the hair, and put pressure on the sensitive area of the scalp. The girls do
complain that it is uncomfortable.
We really do appreciate your partnership and support as parents. Please help us from your
side by enforcing the school rules and regulations with your children.
ANGEL DAY
It has come to our attention that due to tough times many people do not have the basic needs and
many children go to school hungry. Jubilate has decided do something about it! Once a month or
whenever you are able to, PLEASE send a can of food or a toiletry item. Each class teacher will be
collecting these items and we will then distribute it to those in need of help!
To get the ball rolling, we have asked our learners to bring an item this Friday and they may come to
school wearing jeans and their sports golf shirt. A jersey may be necessary if it is cold.
“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” Psalms 46:1

2.4kVa (1400W) LONG LIFE UPS – LOAD SHEDDING SOLUTION
PRODUCT
DESCRIPTION
This is a compact inverter designed to power your home appliances
or precious electronics. Its compact size features easy
installation and high movability. It has a high surge capability.
Compared with traditional inverters in the market, this inverter

power to general home appliances. Can run a LED TV, decoder,
small sound system & 3 LED lights for around 4-6 hours during
load shedding. Runs quietly so can run in a residential complex.
Minimal installation required.
