KR Girls! If you are interested in science, technology and engineering, sign up for a fun afternoon
of hands-on activities and networking with peers and mentors, Tuesday, March 24, 2:30 – 5:00
p.m., in Room D2. Snacks will be provided. Sign up by emailing Ms. Noble at
Cynthia.noble@kent.k12.wa.us or talk to Mr. Boyce in D2.

Tolo is this Saturday. Tickets are on sale for $8 with an ASB card and $10 without. They can
only be purchased during lunch time at the cashier’s office. Don’t wait until the last minute. Ask
that special someone to the dance today.

Fashion Club will be having its next meeting this Friday in room B14 at 2:30. We’ll be making
clothing, jewelry, and videos for the end of the year fashion show.

Photo Auction tickets are on sale NOW! The silent auction will be held March 26th from 5:308pm. Bring your whole family! $10 a ticket include heavy appetizers, coffee, and desserts, plus a
chance to look and buy talented KR students photography! Get your tickets from a photo student
now!!
 Keep March 19th open guys! Buff Puff, Kentridge’s annual boys’ volleyball tournament, will be
happening Thursday March 19th 5:00-6:30 in the gym. Get your teams together and pick up your
form at the cashier’s office and turn them in ASAP! You don’t want to miss this!

Running Start Information Presentation: Tuesday, March 24, 2015 – 3:30-4:30 in the KR Library
The Seattle Swedish Scholarship’s deadline is March 31st, you may pick up an application from Mrs.
Baker in the Counseling Office. Swedish ancestry is not required.
Boeing Fabrication 2015 High School Internship
Qualifications: students must complete their junior year of high school prior to the internship; be 17 or
older; be a U.S. person (U.S. Citizens or Resident Alien of the US); be available to work the entire six
weeks during the 2015 summer; be available 40 hours a week; you must provide your own transportation
to and from work; you must pass a drug test and background check; students must have a 3.0 GPA or
better; excellent attendance and three letters of recommendation. Students will earn $9.50 per
hour. Applications are available from Mrs. Baker in the Counseling Office. Applications are due back to
Mrs. Baker no later than March 31, 2015.

or paper copies are available in the Counseling Office. There is a scholarship just for juniors due on May
1st.
Transcripts can be ordered on line from the KR website. Make sure to order official transcripts ahead of
time so that you have plenty on hand for scholarship applications.

SAT, for KR Juniors, is scheduled for Wednesday, April 15th. This test is free of charge and all
juniors are already scheduled for this event. Students need to report to the Main Gym by 7:15 with their
ID card.
There are a limited number of Grad Night scholarships available on a first come, first served
basis. Deadline for the scholarships is Wednesday, April 1. Students interested in applying for a
scholarship should make an appointment with their Counselor. A partial payment will be requested, so
students applying need to be serious about attending as no refunds are given. The agreed partial payment
amount must be paid by May 15th, or the scholarship is cancelled. Grad Night
scholarship applications will NOT be taken after April 1st and they will not be a part of the Senior Wish
list process.

 Hands Up Club – Wednesdays in B23 after school
 Math Lab – Mondays and Wednesdays – 2:15-3:15 in rooms B4 and B5
 Science Study Hall – Wednesdays – 2:15-3:15 in room A19
 Gender and Sexuality Alliance meets every Monday after school in room B19. Everyone is
welcome to attend.
 ZAP time is on Mondays and Wednesdays. Language Arts ZAP time is in B6, Science ZAP time
is in 223, Social Studies ZAP time is in 214, Math ZAP time is in 213, and all Electives are in D1.
If you are assigned to ZAP time you need to be there from 2:25-3:25. Remember, if you do your
school work, and turn it in, you will never be ZAPPED!
 Failure to attend one hour ZAP Time will result in assignment to a two hour ZAP Study
Hall. Failure to attend ZAP Study Hall will result in students being assigned Wednesday
School which is a two hour detention. Remember, if you do your formative work and turn it in,
you will never be ZAPPED!
