The summer holidays come full of light 2 [ Picture Perfect Activity: paste picture of three generation 3 [ Theme:- Sorting • Materials:- Hair clips, bindis, bangles, toys, hair bands etc. • Instructions: - Ask your child to sort accessories like hair clips, bangles, bindis, hair bands or their toys according to the colour. Theme:- Kitchen shapes • Materials:- Kitchen equipments • Instructions:- Allow your child to be with you in the kitchen. Call out a shape such as ‘Circle’ and see how many items of that shape your child can find in your kitchen. For example- plates, cookies, Jar lids etc. You and your child can even take turns for calling out the shape and can see who finds the maximum number of shapes in the kitchen. Ask students to attempt to make either a garden or a forest with dried flowers and leaves on a blank sheet of paper. Ask them to name each of the items that they place in the garden/forest. Best out of waste: Ask students to collect waste materials that they find in their house and locality over the summer break and attempt to make something out of it. For example - 1. Pencil stand 2. Fine motor skilll development 10 [ PASTE IT MY jar is empty so please fill it with colourful wrappers of toffees. 11 [ Bubble Painting Materials Newspaper Liquid dishwashing detergent Shallow dish paint / colour Straw Handmade sheet or other paper (A4 size) Directions 1. Cover your child's work surface with newspaper. 2. Pour a quarter cup liquid dishwashing detergent into a shallow dish. If you use paint/ colour, mix a small amount of water with the paint/colour. 3. Add the paint/colour mixture to the dishwashing liquid until the color is intense. 4. Place one end of a straw into the mixture, and blow until the bubbles are almost billowing over the edge of the dish. 5. Gently place a piece of construction paper or other paper on top of the bubbles and hold it in place until several bubbles have popped. 6. Continue this process with different colours, blowing more bubbles as needed. 7. To make a unique greeting card, use a piece of construction paper folded in half. When dry, your child can add drawings to the picture and sign it with his/ her name. Construction Paper: It is a tough, coarse coloured paper its surface is unfinished. Made of wood pulp. Similar to coarse handmade sheet. 12 [ Ice – Cream Shake Make ice-cream shake with the help of your mom. Objective : Learn to make an ice-cream shake. Material Required: Milk, sugar, ice, ice-cream of your choice, chocolate sauce and dry fruits Instructions: Step 1- Turn the blender on and gradually add milk, sugar and ice cubes (with help of an elder) Step 2 – Taste the shake for sweetness and blend the shake with ice-cream. Step 3 – Pore the shake into a serving glass. Step 4 – Garnish the shake with dryfruits and chocolate sauce. Step 5 – Serve the shake chilled. Learning out come – The child will learn a simple kitchen activity hands on experience Skills Enhanced : Socio-emotional, sequencing and fine motor skills. 13 [ Mat Magic I will be able to make the table mat. Meal time is an important time for all preschools as they adopt many healthy habits and eating etiquette during that time. Objective: To make a table mat with cut outs of healthy habits and eating etiquettes. Resources: Cut outs on pages 9 & 10. Material Required : A4 size pastel sheet (any colour), glue, crayons, poster colour and vegetables for printing activity (e.g. lady finger, bitter gourd). Instructions: Step 1: Make a border with vegetable printing on one side of the A4 pastel sheet using poster colour. Step 2 : Cut the cut of fork, knife, spoon, plate, glass from pg no. 9 and paste them on the sheet as shown in the picture. Step 3 : Now one side of your mat is ready. Step 4 : on the other side of the sheet make a similar border. Step 5 : Take cut outs on good manners from pg 10 and paste them with their corresponding picture. Step 6: Colour the pictures using crayons. Step7: Label the mat with the child’s name and get it laminated. Learning outcome: Children will be able to learn about good manners and eating etiquettes.
