PRIX EUROPA 2015 REGULATIONS ONLINE PROJECTS PREAMBLE PRIX EUROPA - The European Broadcasting Festival – is the programme-makers’ festival among the media festivals. Looking for the best television, radio and online productions from Europe, it invites programme-makers and editors to find the winner within their genre. These unique juries assess and evaluate all competition entries in a public debate and then vote for the best. This makes PRIX EUROPA a first-class training platform, a multinational market place as well as a forum reliably highlighting the latest media trends and championing quality broadcasting for all Europeans. 1. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR PRIX EUROPA is looking for the best online projects – Made in Europe. PRIX EUROPA is looking for online projects which have vision, creativity and also public responsibility. Projects may include - among others - cross-platform projects, web-based productions and Apps. The entries will be judged on their ideas, the way they have been executed, their quality and their commitment to public values. The prize will be awarded to the project which best explores and uses the potential of the online media. 2. WHO MAY ENTER The PRIX EUROPA Online Category is open to online projects produced by European broadcasting organisations and their cooperating media partners. PRIX EUROPA 2015 REGULATIONS ONLINE CATEGORY 1 3. NUMBER OF ENTRIES Each submitter may take part in the PRIX EUROPA Online category with a maximum of three submissions. 4. ELIGIBLE PERIOD All entries to the ONLINE category of PRIX EUROPA 2015 must be available online from 1 August to 31 October 2015. 5. PRESENTATIONS Only the online projects nominated by the Festival Office by 31 August 2015 will be competing for the PRIX EUROPA Award during the festival week: 17 - 24 October 2015. The Jury Group responsible for the Prix Europa Online Category will convene from 20 - 22 October 2015, all day. All competing projects have to be presented to the Jury Group in 20-minute presentations by a representative of the submitter, each presentation will be followed by a 10-minute Q&A. 6. ADJUDICATION In all the competition categories at PRIX EUROPA the adjudication lies in the hands of an open Jury Group which undertakes to examine all the entries together, to discuss them in public and then to assess them using a points system. Each Jury Group will be a professional forum of programme -makers and onliners. Each final candidate organisation will be obliged to send a Jury Member to present its entry and to take part in the adjudication as a member of the Jury Group. Irrespectively of having submitted a programme into the competition all broadcasting organisations and producers are invited to send Jury Members to serve in the Jury Group. In addition, Observers may participate in all sessions of all Jury Groups. Observers may take part in the discussions but not in the adjudication. PRIX EUROPA 2015 REGULATIONS ONLINE CATEGORY 2 7. AWARD 2015 * PRIX EUROPA Best European Online Project of the Year 8. ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE PRIZE WINNER On Friday, 23 October 2015 the prize winner will be officially announced during the Awards Ceremony. 9. PRIZE MONEY & TROPHY The prize amounts to €6,000. The prize money will be paid by the Organisers to the person/s named by the entering organisation. The PRIX EUROPA TROPHY will be handed over to the representative of the winning entry at the Awards Ceremony on Friday, 23 October 2015. The Festival Organisers expect the prize winner to attend the Awards Ceremony in person – or to send a representative. PRIX EUROPA 2015 REGULATIONS ONLINE CATEGORY 3 10. DEADLINES Submission: By 1 July 2015 the PRIX EUROPA Festival Office in Berlin must have received: Submission forms, duly completed online at www.prixeuropa.eu Pre-Selection: By 31 August 2015 each submitter will be informed about the results of the pre-selection . Selected Projects: By 23 September 2015 the submitters of the selected projects must send in the following: a) personal registration form, duly completed (online) of the Jury Member who will represent the submitting organisation in the Jury Group (can be identical with b). b) personal registration form, duly completed (online) of the person who will present the competing project to the Jury Group see point 5. (can be identical with a). c) 3-minute trailer of the project in English, in a file format (mov / mp4) please mail to: online@prixeuropa.eu. Please name the file with the English title of the entry. The trailer will be used at the PRIX EUROPA Awards Ceremony and on the PRIX EUROPA Website in case the entry wins. d) photographs: stills/screen shots, pictures of key staff for use free of charge and/or press kit, please mail to: press@prixeuropa.eu). 11. THE SMALL PRINT If a submission wins the submitter will mention the PRIX EUROPA Award in all subsequent promotional and press material. Projects entered for the competition may not include any commercial advertising. A co-production will be regarded as the entry of whichever organisation submits it. All co-production partners must be named on the registration form. It will be presumed by the Organiser that the other co-producers have agreed to the programme being entered. The Organiser shall have the right to use excerpts of up to 5 minutes for screening free of charge by TV stations reporting on PRIX EUROPA 2015 or for use in the Internet. All graphic material sent in by the submitters is released free of charge for use in all publications on PRIX EUROPA 2015 (press, printed material, Internet). PRIX EUROPA 2015 REGULATIONS ONLINE CATEGORY 4 These rules are issued in English. Any entry failing to comply with these rules may be disqualified by the Organiser or the relevant Jury Group. The registration of an entry for PRIX EUROPA 2015 competition implies full acceptance of these rules. PRIX EUROPA 2015 REGULATIONS ONLINE CATEGORY 5
