Stars of the Week! Wishing you all a lovely weekend! Kirkby
Kirkby Malzeard CE Primary School Kirkby Malzeard, Ripon Tel/Fax: 01765 658329 20th March 2015 We are almost at the end of the spring term – where does the time go? This week we have had a science focus to celebrate ‘science week’. The children have had great fun trying out some exciting investigations (and learned lots of new things). On Thursday we had a visit from ‘LOVE SCIENCE’ … The children took part in a variety of workshops & had a great time. Activities like these really do bring learning to life and help our children to develop ‘life skills’. For more details visit www.lovescience.co.uk The whole school experienced the Solar Eclipse on the field this morning. Despite the cloud cover we were able to safely view this using water trays and pin hole cameras. We used our senses; we felt the chill in the air and listened to the change in atmosphere! Stars of the Week! This week our awards for a positive attitude and hard work go to everyone inCedar Class – Jack , Jamie & Sebastian Palm Class - Harmony & Harry Oak Class – Y1/2- Joseph YR – Charlie G Well done all of you! Wishing you all a lovely weekend! Decorated Egg competition! The ‘FRIENDS’ are organising a decorated egg competition with the theme – GENERAL EGGLECTION! The topic is timely & also fits in with our work on British Values. The children can design their egg to represent an MP (real or made up!). In school we have talked to the children & they have made lots of suggestions:– Alien MP, Monster Raving Loony MP, Animal MP, MP from another planet, Green Party MP. I am sure you will be able to think of many more creative ideas! The ‘FRIENDS’ are sending out further details. The ‘FRIENDS’ are also selling squares for 50p – the winning square wins a giant Easter Egg. Squares are on sale next week.
