This is to notify that the bid closing date is

The Chairman, Standing Cabinet Appointed ProcurementCommittee (SCAPC)of Ministry
of Power and Energy on behalf of Lanka Coal Company (Private) Limited (LCC) invites
sealedbids from bidders for the supply of coal for the 900 MW Lakvijaya Power Plant,
Puttalam.(thePlant).
Lanka Coal Company (Pvt) Ltd was incorporated in January 2008for the procurement of
coal for coal fired power plants in the Country. Sharesof the Company are held by the
Treasury, Ceylon Electricity Board, Sri Lanka Ports Authority and Ceylon Shipping
Corporation Ltd.

Approximately 2,250,000metric tons of coal is required for operation of the Plant
annually. Bids are invited for purchase of coal on Free On Board and Trimmed
(FOBT) basis / Cost Insurance & Freight (CIF) basis following International
Competitive Bidding Process.
A complete set of bidding documents may be purchased by interested bidders on
submission of a written application accompaniedby a non-refundable fee of Rs.
25,000.00

A Revised Bidding Document will be issued free of charge by LCC, to all
the bidders who have purchased the Bidding Documents up to yesterday.
3. Bidding documents can be inspected free of charge at the address given in
paragraph 2 during office hours. Also Bidding Documents can be viewed through
Lanka Coal Company Web Site. (www.lankacoa1.lk).But to submit a bid, bidders
have to purchasethe Bidding Documentsfrom Lanka Coal Company (Pvt) Ltd.
4. Sealedbids accompaniedby a bid security shall be delivered at the addressgiven in
paragraph 2. Bids will be received up to 03.00p.m. on 08thAprif 2015 (Sri Lanka
Standard Time) and will be opened immediately thereafter. Bidders or their
authorized representativesmay witress the opening of bids.
5. Provision of Public Contract Act, No.3 of 1987 shall be applicable for this
procurement.
