LARKSWOOD NEWS
Message from the headteacher
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your continued
support and efforts in supporting us with our after school collection
arrangements each evening.
It was lovely to meet up with so many of you and to celebrate your children's
successes at our parents evening last week. In addition, your comments and
feedback from seeing the new uniform on display have been really positive,
useful and constructive. It has been really great to see so many of you in
school trying on the jumpers for size.
I would like to wish you all a very restful weekend and look forward to
welcoming you back next week.
Best wishes, Lynne Harrowell.
Who are the Lime Trust?
We have received enquiries over the last few weeks about the Lime Trust.
Therefore, we thought it would be helpful to share some information in
answer to the questions we’ve received. The Lime Trust is a Multi Academy
Trust. This means that a number of schools can join the Trust to work
together as a group of schools. The DFE may identify schools in need of
support and approach the Lime Trust to provide stability and help.
Larkswood Primary Academy, as a school within the Lime Trust remains a
school with its own identity and local focus.
One of the benefits of being part of a Trust of schools is that high cost
resources can be a shared expense across many schools which often a single
school could not otherwise afford. Another, is the sharing of good practice
which includes, improved training for staff, greater experiences for pupils,
and participation in high profile projects which schools can learn a great deal
from.
The Lime Trust is a registered charity and is not permitted to generate
‘profits’. All monies generated from activities and incentives initiated by the
Trust are ploughed back into school environments and resources.
If you have any questions with regards to the work of the Lime Trust please
contact Jo Littman directly via email jo.littman@limetrust.london

After School Club Changes for September 2015
Hip Hip Horray the sun is on its way!
It looks like the sun will be shining next week and the
temperature rising. Please can you ensure that your
child brings in a sun hat and water bottle with them
each day so that they can make the most of playing
outside!
From September 2015 Kelly’s Kidz Club (our current after
school provision) will change to be an in-school club for
Larkswood, this will allow us to focus the provision in line
with the values of the school and ensure profits generated
are re-invested to benefit pupils attending the school. We
are currently working on information leaflets, timetables
and its organisation which we look forward to sharing with
you after half term.
Important NEW Date for your Diary
Please be assured that if your child currently attends the
after school provision or an application has been submitted
for a place after September, your child will automatically be
allocated a place – if you no longer want your child to attend
please just let us know.
The London Borough of Waltham Forest has allocated an additional inset
day to all schools in Waltham Forest. Therefore, we will be closed for pupils
on Friday 3 July. We apologise for the short notice but we have only just
been made aware of this.
If you have any ideas or suggestions about after school care
that you feel would improve our provision or offer then do
let us know via email to school@larkswoodlime.london, or
drop a note into our main reception.

There will be a team representing each year group. Unfortunately, only 8
children (4 boys and 4 girls) will be chosen to represent the school.
These children will be chosen based on their behaviour, attitude to learning, their
general conduct around the school. Please look out for letters (with permission
slips) if your child has been selected. The year 5 and 6 QuadKids will take place
after half term.

SAINSBURY ACTIVE KIDS' VOUCHERS WE NEED YOU!
The collection of the Sainsbury Active Kids'
vouchers have finished and we are in the process
of counting up our total. Last year, we collected
more than every local primary school, so we are
calling on all parents/carers and family members to
help us collect even more. If you have any at home,
in your bag or anywhere else, please send them
into school. Once we have tallied up the amount of
vouchers, we will be able to order sports
equipment from Sainsbury, ready for the next
academic year.
