1. The importance of using music to learn
2. How to incorporate music in all subject
areas
3. Using sign language and music together
4. Creating simple instruments using household items

Kimberly Bennett-Matthews
Kimberly Matthews is a teaching principal at Valley
Adventist Christian School
in Moreno Valley, CA. She
has taught grades K-4 and
is currently teaching
grades 5-8. Kimberly has
a love of music. She has
been singing in choirs
since the age of two, and
learned to play the violin
and piano early on in her life. Kimberly has directed
many choirs of all ages at various churches and
schools in California. The combination of music and
education is a powerful tool that Kimberly loves to
share with others.
Roger McFarland, Ed.S.
Roger has taught at La Sierra
for 35 years, and coached
gymnastics for young and old
for 50 years. He presently
teaches the Elementary
Physical Education class for
Physical Education and Liberal
Studies students at La Sierra
University.
**Each course is 1 unit. When you register for
both workshops it will equal 2 units total. **

This workshop is designed to teach play and
game activities that are both fun and enjoyable
for children, and will keep children fit for life.
Active kids are healthy kids. Active kids are
better learners. Come dressed to participate,
as you learn new and active games to
challenge kids.
