Mule deer frequent the park during the morning and evening in late summer and fall to feed on fruit from an old homesteader's orchard located within the campground. The park provides a base from which to explore areas such as Hart Mountain Wildlife Refuge, the 8,500-foot Warner Mountains just east of the park, and the obsidian beds in the Modoc National Forest of northeast California. Nearby Lakeview (15 miles north) offers fuel, groceries, vehicle repair services, and restaurants. 395 Goose Lake State Recreation Area New Pine Creek Oregon California Goose Lake elev. 4700' Crane Mt. elev. 8,500' State Line Road 395 Alturas, CA Medford, OR Reno, NV V Goose Lake State Recreation Area Goose Lake N New Pin e Creek k ree eC nty Cou Lake tch Rd 19 20 18 21 22 23 15 e di ice 17 16 inag Serv il Tra Dra RR Pin Service yard 39 14 38 37 13 12 Park hosts 35 36 10 9 25 26 40 41 42 43 44 45 46 47 8 7 6 27 28 48 34 33 32 11 Day-use area 24 5 4 29 31 30 3 2 1 Applegate Trail info State Line Rd Please help make camping at Goose Lake a safe and enjoyable experience by following these and other park rules: • Campground quiet hours are between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m. • All vehicles must be parked on pavement. • Bicycles are permitted on park roads, but must be ridden with the traffic flow.
