Results of Matches Played 30th May 2015.
Under 7’s defeated OLQP (Red) 7-3 at Daniel St Park
Under 9’s (Blue) defeated St Bernadettes 10-0 at Eric Mobbs Reserve
Another solid win this week for the
team, and another illustration of
what happens when everyone
executes the fundamentals well players knowing and using their field
positions, excellent running, ball
control and passing, constant
pressuring of the opposition players,
getting to the ball first, and above all,
teamwork.
Well done to Sailesh for his best
game of the season so far, and thank
you to all the parents and
supporters.
Eight goals were put away by
Hissham and two by Anthony
Mylonas, a great effort by both
players.
Of the ten goals scored, four came
from opposition goal kicks or
clearances which were pounced on
by the Congs players, and two were
length of the field efforts where
backs, halves and forwards combined
quick passing with skills to beat the
opposition players, which set up
successful shots at goal.
The remaining four came from
determined play and individual
contributions by Hissham, Jethro and
Anthony Mylonas.
The entire team set up this latest
sizeable win and they should all be
pleased with the result.
Under 9’s (Gold) lost 0-5 to Hills Spirit (Green) at Phillips Park
Lidcombe’s Under 9 Gold team
showed a remarkable improvement
against Hills Spirit at Phillips Park.
Lidcombe’s defence was very
determined and together with some
great saves from first half goalkeeper
Zac Esmail the team kept their more
experienced opposition scoreless up
until the break.
Lidcombe kept up their determination in the second half but were unfortunately over run in the final 10
minutes of the match. A good effort
from the whole team with solid performances from Rio Rajah, , Gabriel
Cruz, and Thomas Murray. J J and J C
Ong were running all day and put
some good passes together.
Under 10’s lost 2-4 to Guildford McCredie Uniting (White) at Phillips Park
The Under 10s started their match
well on Saturday but their defence
was caught out twice in the first half
conceding two goals on the counter
attack.
Lidcombe pressured in the second
half and a comeback seemed on the
cards when trailing Yehya Hamdan
found the net for Lidcombe to take
the score to 2-1. Guildford then
extended their lead not long after.
Sweker Pendey kept Lidcome’s hope
s alive when the coach moved him
out of defence and into the midfield.
The moved payed off when he scored
a cracking long range goal from
22metres out firing the ball in just
under the crossbar.
Donato Agen, Abdul , Dharsshan
Srimurugakumar, Gabriel Hamdan
and Layla Hamdan all fought hard
pushing for an extra goal to save the
match but Lidcombe unluckily
conceded a final goal with only
minutes remaining.
Unfortunately luck just wasn't with
Lidcombe.
