“The Laughter of a Child is the Light of the Home”
Board of Officers 2015-2016
This Moose year, as WOTM Family Involvement Committee Chairman,
I’ve had the wonderful opportunity to hear the laugher of many children
in our Moose home.
Many heartfelt thanks go out to everyone who made the Children’s
Halloween, Christmas and Easter parties a tremendous success, it was
hard work, a lot of fun and the families loved it! Thank you Governor
Charles Benson and your board for embracing and supporting my
vision.
A special “THANK YOU” to the Monday and Wednesday night Pool
Crew who sponsored the majority of the Children’s Easter Party and
again to all of you who donated your time, money, goods and your love
to make it a memorable day. It is my sincere prayer that the 2015-2016
Children’s parties grow in participation, fellowship and support. Get
involved ~ Believe me the blessings you will receive from working with
your Moose family, and participating with the children and families is
boundless.
THANK YOU ~ MUCHAS GRACIAS ~ DANKE ~ MERCI ~ GRAZIE ~

ADMINISTRATOR’S MESSAGE:
by Dan O’Neal
Congratulations to our newly elected officers and sincere best
wishes and thanks to those serving last year. Serving as a lodge officer requires
more dedication and time than most realize, so give these guys a pat on the back
next time you see them and let them know just how much you appreciate their
efforts.
Speaking of efforts, we should also give a shout out to Al & Fran Caime who
came out of retirement to prepare Thursday’s spaghetti. Fran or Al come in
early in the morning to begin the process of preparation for the sauce, salad and
dessert. This usually takes the better part of the day until the ‘serving crew’
comes in around 4:00 pm. While we usually have enough people on hand for
the serving part, but more would be better in order to allow these folks to take a
break or even a week off. Also, Fran & Al would greatly appreciate some help
with the preparation. If you might have some time to volunteer on Thursday
morning or evening, please let us know. A quick thanks to some of the server
line crew...Richard Haines, Morris Hash, James Reed, Dale Vied, Charles
Benson and William Leverence (please forgive any omission). Also, don’t
forget our waitresses or our usual cashier, Mary Hildebrandt.
One more important shout-out to Jolene Sheets for organizing all of our
Children’s events this year. The Halloween, Christmas and Easter Parties were
all outstanding. I suppose we’d be remiss without mentioning her very
important assistant and handyman John Sheets.
Thanks to all of you for everything you do!
Hello! Just want to let you know that we are continuing to work hard to
bring in the best bands in Central Florida. Bad Manners was a smash hit
in the March rib cook-off. We have three new bands starting in May to
join our already great line of bands that we have on Saturday nights, like
Bone Brothers, Boggy Creek, and Down Beat. Steele will be here on
May 2nd and Traces of Gold will be here on May 23rd and again two
days later on May 25th for Memorial Day. Both are high energy bands
that are a must-see. We have Highway 19 coming in on June 13. This is
a rock, country, and blues band. So mark your calendars and come in
and support your Lodge. We have top quality bands for a top quality
Lodge. Come and join the fun.

There are no strangers here,
only friends you haven’t met !
Hi, everyone. What a grand event the Rib Cook-Off and Road Rally
turned out to be. We had over 250 people and eleven cookers. And we’d
like to thank the contestants for some of the best ribs in the world. I
really don’t know how you can pick one over the other. I thought they
were all good. The fire department did a great job in their judging. We’d
like to congratulate Cliff Keesman from County Line Lodge who became
our first annual Rib Cook-Off King. The Road Rally turned out to be a
lot of fun. Everyone really enjoyed it and can’t wait for the next one.
Congratulations to Jackie and Becky for finishing in first place. Bernie
did a great job as an opening act and we can’t say enough about “Bad
Manners” the Band. What a show they put on! They had everyone
rocking and dancing into the evening. We would like to give a special
thanks to the Women of the Moose for coming to our rescue and doing a
great job serving the food. We would also like to thank the Committee;
John and Helen Boruch, Justin Keel, Dan Wark, and Norm White. These
people put in months and hundreds of hours to make this event a success.
Our Lodge is a better Lodge because of people like them.

Governor’s Message
by Charles Benson
Closing out another Moose calendar year, I want to thank
you for your contributions to our financial well-being. With your
active support, we have reduced the sewer loan from $71,000 to
$30,000. Regions Bank wants us to refinance the remainder at 4.5%
for three years. We have countered with an offer to pay half now and
finance the remaining $15,000. The “Half-Now” would come from
our $30,000 money market account at Regions. The remainder
would serve as collateral for the new loan. So, no lien on our
property, no clause about a possible prepayment penalty, and much
less interest. The interest charges for the new three year loan will be
$1,200, about one-fourth of the interest paid in the first year of the
previous note. i.e. (July 2010 – June 2011). You made this possible
by your generous support.
I want to thank the Board of Officers for its cooperation and
commitment this past year. In particular, I want to express my
appreciation to Dan O’Neal for his performance as Lodge
Administrator. I also want to recognize the fine work done by our
professional staffs at Mooseheart and Moosehaven. I have observed
our young people at Mooseheart and at a half-dozen National
Conventions. Black, White or Hispanic – these kids seem to have
their act together. When you consider their backgrounds, it makes
you proud to be a Moose member. As for Moosehaven, the testimony
of good friends residing there speaks for itself.

ORIENTATION REPORT
By Chuck Myers
Orientation is one of the most important things we can do for
new members. In an hour they will learn much about our lodge,
Mooseheart and Moosehaven., and so much more. When you sign a new
member please encourage them to come to orientation. Better yet, invite
them and, you come too.
It's important that we educate our new members. And our existing
members. Yes, it's important that we sign new members, but it's more
important that they stay as members. That's called RETENTION. In the
last 13 years our lodge has shown an increase in membership only One
Time. Not Good!
Therefore, it's important that we sign new members, but we also need
to keep the one's we have. You can help by encouraging attendance at
orientation. We have one each month. Check with the office for dates
and times.
Thanks,
Chuck
