Girls Soccer Team Earns
District County Champion Title
The Lexington Girls Soccer Team are Lee County Champs!! The Lynx defeated Trafalgar Middle by the score of 2 to 1
last night at Kelly Soccer Complex. Mackenzie Gorski scored the first goal on an assist from Faith McDonald and then
Faith scored the second goal on an assist from Mackenzie. These two players applied relentless pressure throughout
the game on Trafalgar's defense as well as other girls who had opportunities to score but just couldn't find the back of
the net taking close to 20 shots to Trafalgar's three.
Kailyn Kaminski, Leslie Saldana, Izzy Wilkerwicz, Kailey Stockinger, Mille Wensley, Danelle Root, and Leeanne Traycik
played extremely well as midfielders while Maddie Black, Allie Graeber, Keera Haataja, and Marisol Cortes were incredible on defense.
These girls represented our school well and are clearly deserving of being the best team in Lee County.

Cole, Caitlin, Bradley, Timothy, and Mackenzie qualified for state recognition. These students scored approximately at or above the
national average of recent high school
graduates on at least one part of the ACT or the SAT.
Bradley also qualified for Grand Recognition. Students who qualify at the grand level scored approximately at or better than 90 percent of recent high school
graduates on at least one part of the ACT or the SAT.
Caitlin and Mackenzie qualified for the Academy for Summer Studies, and Cole, Bradley, and Timothy qualified for the Center for
Summer Studies.

The week of April 13 -17, 2015 Lexington will be holding a GOODWILL Drive.
Clean out your closets and give used, clean and unwanted clothing, belts, toys and other nonbreakable household items. Bring the items to school and place in the large bin labeled 6 th, 7th
or 8th in the front hallway. The winning grade level in the competition will celebrate with a pizza
party in May. Change someone’s life for the better!
You can help:

WELLNESS TIP:
Do I need different types of exercise?
While any kind of exercise offers tremendous health benefits, different types of exercise focus more on certain aspects of your health. Mixing up the different types of exercise can add variety to your workouts and broaden the
health benefits.
1. Aerobic activities like running, cycling, and swimming strengthen your heart and increase your
endurance.
2. Strength training like weight lifting or resistance training builds muscle and bone mass, improves balance
and prevents falls. It’s one of the best counters to frailty in old age.
3. Flexibility exercises like stretching and yoga help prevent injury, enhance range of motion, reduce stiff
ness, and limit aches and pains.

and educators at the Carson Scholars Fund Annual Lee County Awards Banquet on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at the
Harborside Event Center.

Dress code for Dance:
The dance will be a semiformal dance. Attire for the
boys will be a dress shirt, tie,
dress pants, belt and appropriate dress shoes. Tuxedos are
not permitted. Attire for the
girls will be semi-formal.
Dresses must have at least
one strap. No clear straps are
allowed. Strapless dresses
and formal gowns are not permitted. Jeans, shorts , and
sneakers are not permitted.
Limousines are not permitted.

All 6th Grade Parents,
This is just a reminder that students entering 7th grade next
school year (2015-16), needs to have received the mandatory
Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis) vaccine. Please bring in
the immunization record with the date the Tdap was given and
hand it in to the clinic.
