CALL FOR NOMINATIONS
To all Non-Governmental Organizations:
Good day!
Once again, the National Anti-Poverty Commission invites nominations for the Association
of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) Rural Development and Poverty Eradication
Second (2nd) Leadership Awards. It will recognize the roles, outstanding achievements and
contributions of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in ASEAN Member States to rural
development and poverty eradication. The Leadership Awards will be held in conjunction
with the biennial ASEAN Ninth (9th) Ministers Meeting on Rural Development and Poverty
Eradication (AMRDPE) in Lao PDR.
Certainly, we recognize that the Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and Civil Society
Organizations (CSOs) in the Philippines have played a significant role in promoting
sustainable development in the country. The event is also an opportunity to ensure that the
contribution and efforts of NGOs/CSOs are realized, as well as to enhance their capacities
and effectiveness as actors in the implementation of innovative programs and reforms, and
forge strategic partnerships and cooperation with key stakeholders.
Thus, I enjoin you to participate in this Leadership Awards and showcase Philippine NGO
models of rural development and poverty eradication. Enclosed are the Award Guidelines
and the Nomination Form for your guidance.
