Stud dent M Monitorr Responsib bilities s Please review the sttudent monitor responsibilitiees below and su ubmit the Studdent Monitor A Application Forrm if you are innterested in beingg a monitor. We loook forward to your participaation at this meeeting! Resp ponsibilitiess before the Session Report to the t Authors’ Coffee at 7:00 a.m. a each day you y are availab le to monitor ffor both morninng and afternooon sessions. All assignm ments for the day will be diistributed at th his time. MS&T willl not be assign ning sessions in n advance of th he meeting for MS&T15. Insttead, student m monitors are askked to review the list of sessions s provid ded so that they y are prepared to make their sselections onsiite. No assignm ments will be m made in advance of the meeting.. Prior to entering Authorss’ Coffee, check k in with staff at the Techniccal Programminng Desk. You will be given a number that will indicaate when you may m select yourr sessions for th hat day. You m may select the ssessions you prrefer based on the sessions available at a the time you make your selection. You wiill be providedd with session aattendance sheeets and any othher information n you need for f monitoring your session(s). Because sesssions will be seelected on a firrst-come, first--served basis, w we encourage you to arriv ve at or shortly y after 7:00 a.m m. After you select s your sessions and pick up the attendaance sheets, repport to the assiggned session taable to meet thhe session chairr and speakeers. Acquaint yourself y with th he session layout and any speecial needs of thhe chair or speeakers. Resp ponsibilitiess during thee Session Assist the session s chair with w room lightting. Test the lasser pointer and d make sure it is i functioning properly. p If yoou notice any pproblems, or if the laser pointter is missing, notify TMS S staff. Report the attendance forr each talk by entering e a coun nt of people in the room on thhe attendance ssheet provided.. Confirm eaach presentatio on was given. Iff a speaker does not show up or send a replaacement speakeer for the samee talk, enter “N No Show” unlesss it is marked “C Cancelled” by the MS&T Staaff or the Sessio on Chair. Iff there are replaacement presen ntations for No o Show or Canccelled presentaations, write in the replacemeent paper title an nd the time thaat it was presen nted at the botto om of the sessiion attendance sheet. Write “nno show” in thhe space next to o th he paper that haas been replaceed (provided it is not already marked cancellled). If you observe any of th he following in n your room, alert a the Techn nical Program mming Desk im mmediately: au udio/visual eq quipment prob blems un nauthorized photographing p g and/or recorrding of a sessiion (As stated in the Techniccal Program: “R Recording of seessions (audio, video, still pho otography, etcc.) intended forr personal use, distribution, ppublication or ccopyright without w the exprress written con nsent of MS&T T and the indivvidual authors iis strictly prohhibited.”) If there is a medical emergency in thee session room m, please assistt the session chair by notifyying authoritiees. n the conventio on center, walk k to the Techniccal Programmiing Desk to repport the emergeency. If you seee MS&T or In co onvention center staff on you ur way, report the t emergency to that person.. Resp ponsibilitiess after the Session S Fill out thee session form completely to receive paymeent for your tim me worked. Monitors earn e $20 for each half-day sesssion and gain the opportunitty to interact w with the professsional materialss scientists and d engineers who w organize sessions s and prresent papers at a the meeting. Upon comp pletion of the session, s return the completed d forms to stafff at the Techniccal Programminng Desk. Youu will receive a voucher wh hich allows yo ou to collect your payment at the MS&T Reegistration Deskk. Please do not n wait until th he end of MS& &T15 to collectt your paymennt. Payments m must be picked up before 12 pp.m. following the day of your assigned session(s).
