IOSH accredits the Assessing Hand Protection Training Course
from Polyco
Working in healthy and safety means that you have to know about the large range of hazards that can
affect workers literally from head to toe. When it comes to hand protection, it can be complicated to
choose from a plethora of gloves on the market. To help with this complex task, industry leader Polyco has
created an IOSH accredited training course designed to help health and safety professionals navigate the
glove selection process.
Who should attend
The training course which takes place at Polyco’s offices in Enfield, north London, is tailored for all Health
and Safety professionals who would like to improve their knowledge of hand protection, and is offered free
of charge.
What participants will learn about:
•
PPE Directive, the legal requirements for employers and CE markings
•
The associated EN standards that affect hand protection against a range of hazards
•
The processes and materials used in glove manufacturing
•
Hand protection assessment survey (HPAS®) methodology and why it is important
•
How to incorporate a glove policy into a H&S policy
The course is presented by Health and Safety consultant Gerard Hand, a former IOSH President, and
Polyco’s technology director Bernard Garvey. The course is run over just one day and is highly interactive
with 9 sessions covering the basic principles and processes required to help the delegate learn how to
evaluate and choose the most appropriate available hand protection.
To register for the Polyco Assessing Hand Protection Training Course, please send an email with your name
and contact details to hpas@polyco.co.uk. Next planned dates are 21st and 29th of July.
