SENIOR DEMOCRATIC HEALTH CARE STRATEGIST
LAUREN ARONSON JOINS MEHLMAN CASTAGNETTI
Washington, DC -- Mehlman Castagnetti Rosen Bingel & Thomas is excited to
announce that Lauren Aronson, a senior Democratic health strategist with fifteen years of
policy, political and government experience, will be joining our team in May. Lauren
comes to Mehlman Castagnetti after serving in high level positions in the Obama
Administration and Congress.
“Lauren is a tremendous talent who will be an excellent addition to our team,” said David
Castagnetti, co-founder of the firm. “She is widely respected on both sides of the aisle
and has a deep understanding of health policy and Washington, which will be an
incredible asset to clients.”
Most recently, Lauren was the Director of the Office of Legislation at the Centers for
Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), where she served as the chief liaison to Congress,
leading all agency interactions with Capitol Hill. As a senior political appointee, Lauren
worked with senior officials within CMS, the U.S. Department of Health and Human
Services (HHS), and the White House on a variety of health policy issues including
Medicare, Medicaid and the implementation of the Affordable Care Act.
Previously, Lauren served as a Professional Staff Member for the Committee on Ways
and Means in the U.S. House of Representatives. Notably, Lauren served in the White
House as the Policy Director in the Office of Health Reform, and was a key member of
the Administration’s team working to enact the Affordable Care Act.
Prior to joining the White House, Lauren served as a Policy Advisor to Representative
Rahm Emanuel and advised him on health policy issues while Mr. Emanuel was
Democratic Caucus Chair and a Member of the House Ways and Means
Committee. Earlier in her career, she worked as a Policy Analyst to Christopher Jennings
at his firm, Jennings Policy Strategies.
Lauren received a B.A. in political science from George Washington University.
