Remove the stopper of the Streck tube by either gently rocking the stopper
from side to side or by grasping with a simultaneous twisting and pulling
action. A “thumb roll” procedure for stopper removal is NOT recommended

There is a preservative in the tube that protects the cells during
transport. It is critical that this preservative is gently mixed with the
entire blood volume by completely inverting the tube ten times. If the
sample is not completely and throughly, mixed a fraction of the cells
may lyse and release additional maternal DNA into the plasma
requiring a second sample

Place the swab in the same tube and then re-attach cap securely to tube.
High or low temperatures may cause the cells to lyse and release
additional maternal DNA into the plasma, thus diluting the fetal
component and requiring a second sample
