Roger Desjardins

beauty. Raised on the shores of the St.
Lawrence River in Canada, Roger grew to
love the waterfowl that surrounded him.
A naturally gifted artist, Roger began his
carving career by helping his father repair
battered decoys or “smoothies" as they
were called in those days. Soon Roger
began carving his own decoys and he
established himself as one of the pioneers
in the art of decorative decoy carving.
