Story, 1D Page: Asection_f ATHENS, Greece — Greece lurched into uncharted territory and an uncertain future in Europe’s common currency Sunday after voters overwhelmingly rejected demands by international creditors for more austerity measures in exchange for a bailout of its bankrupt economy. Results showed that TSIPRAS about 61 percent voted “no,” compared with 39 percent for “yes,” with 100 percent of the vote counted. At times, the outpouring was so enthusiastic that the crowds seemed to be using him for target practice, flinging hats QUITO, Ecuador — When Latin America’s first pope announced he was traveling to Spanish-speaking South America for the first time, expectations were high. On Sunday, that historic encounter created a massive outpouring as tens of thousands of Ecuadorians cheered, chanted and showered Pope Francis with offerings. Ecuador marks the beginning of a week-long, three-nation tour that includes Bolivia and Paraguay and that is being hailed as a homecoming of sorts for the Argentine-born pontiff. • TURN TO FRANCIS, 2A Weather, 8B Save up to 90% off everyday on dealsaver.com/miami H1 92 | 80 Partly cloudy, storm chance Pub. date: Monday, July 6 FERNANDO LLANO/AP DRAWING HUGE CROWDS: Pope Francis waves upon his arrival to the Mariscal Sucre International airport in Quito, Ecuador, on Sunday.
