MEDITERRANEAN YACHT SHOW CHEFS' COMPETITION 2015 The established Chefs' Competition of the Mediterranean Yacht Show, will take place as follows: • Category A: Sunday 03.05.2015 from 10: 00-18: 30, for yachts with a daily charter rate in high season up to 6.999 euros / day. • Category A’ Platinum: Monday 05.04.2015 from 10: 00-18: 30, for yachts with a daily charter rate in high season of 7.000 euro / day and above. The competition theme for 2015 “A Greek islands’ dish, based on local - original recipe” Entries should be sent via email to: ap@gya.gr until Friday, April 24, 2015 at 12pm, by completing the Registration Form attached to the end of this announcement. The jury will be composed as follows: For Category A, Mr. Ettore Botrini and 2 yacht brokers. For Category A 'Platinum, Mr. Ettore Botrini and 2 yacht brokers. Participation is allowed for Chefs who are permanently employed on the yacht that attends the Mediterranean Yacht Show 2015. Occasionally employed Chefs just for the show are not allowed to participate. 2. Participants are requested to prepare an appetizer or a salad or a main course based on the subject and indicating in writing a presentation of the plates’ tradition and it’s location. 3. The contestant will prepare the plate in the yachts' galley. 4. The competition is divided into two categories on the basis of the daily charter rate of the yacht to which the contestant is crew: • Category A: Sunday 03.05.2015 from 10: 00-18: 30, for yachts with a daily charter rate in high season up to 6.999 euros / day. • Category A’ Platinum: Monday 05.04.2015 from 10: 00-18: 30, for yachts with a daily charter rate in high season of 7.000 euro / day and above. 5. The organizing committee reserves the right to change the terms of the competition. 6. In each category competing Chefs will be maximum 18. For this reason, if the number of entries per class exceeds 18, draw will be conducted by the organizing committee. 7. The Jury is appointed by the Organizing Committee of the Mediterranean Yacht Show. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to change the members of the Jury. 8. Each contestant must present the plate in the main dinnerware of the yacht in the yachts' dining area and provide: * 3 individual plates and cutlery for the testing of judges; * a cardboard in English: referring the name of the contestant, the yachts’ name, the name of the dish and the ingredients * a cardboard in English: referring the short presentation of the tradition of the dish. The cardboards will be positioned adjacent the plate and should be white paper A5 (half A4). Before the Jury test a photo-shooting will precede. 9. The Chefs are free to choose their creation based on the theme of the competition. Basic groundwork preparations may precede. The Jury will attend from 10:00 to 18:30. The attendance timetable program of the Jury will be posted at Registration Desk Saturday, May 2, 2015. 10. Each contestant will present one dish. The amount should be sufficient to test for the three judges. Each preparation should be as uniform as possible so that with one trial the judge will achieve a picture of the dish. 11. TheJury will vote in basis of the following criteria: Presentation, Taste, Originality and Healthy dieting. 12. Each of the above four criteria is valued by a whole number up to 10. If the judge wants to distinguish a plate and only if has already obtained 40 points; has the potential to add a star (in the note box of the voting form), equivalent to 5 points. 135 points is the maximum voting a Chef can achieve. Jury timetable of visits: 10:00, 10:20, 10:40, 11:00, 11:20, 11:40, 12:00, 12:20, 12:40, BREAK 15:20, 15:40, 16:00, 16:20, 16:40, 17:00, 17:20, 17:40, 18:00 13. Results will be announced on Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at the Chefs’ Competition Awards & Farewell Party. 14. The winners will receive commemorative awards which will be presented during the Chef Competition Awards & Farewell Party. 15. The names of the winners and yachts will be presented at the official website of the exhibition and in Greek and Foreign media.
