In addition, the ship features a wide variety of restaurants, bars and lounges, a theater, concert hall, spa and nightclub, a very large deck area – and a 25-meter pool on deck 12! Mein Schiff 4 is not of course Finnish Marine Industries’ only masterpiece. Over the past few decades, Finnish shipyards have built dozens of cruise ships and passenger ferries. For instance, in 2009 and 2010, Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas, two of the largest and most luxurious cruise ships built so far, were delivered to Royal Caribbean from Turku. Each has capacity for up to 6000 passengers. Finnish Marine Industries’ countless success stories are all based on the same ingredients: continuous development of firms staffed by employees possessing the highest levels of expertise, use of state-of-the-art technology, and a global customer base. The exact recipe followed is tailored to the individual customer’s specific requirements. Finnish Marine Industries’ member companies are also responsible for the construction of the world’s most environmentally friendly passenger ferry, Viking Grace, which was delivered in 2014 to Viking Line from Meyer Turku shipyard. Finnish experts have designed and constructed plenty of other cruise ships, such as Independence of the Seas, Liberty of the Seas, Freedom of the Seas and Mariner of the Seas, all for Royal Caribbean International.
