Introduction
A cable testing course covering the theory and practical
aspects of copper and fiber optic testing and certification,
utilizing the Fluke Networks Versiv Family of Cable
Analysers. This course ensures installed cables are tested
correctly, to the appropriate methods and standards,
utilizing the full range of diagnostic tools built into the test
equipment.

The Fluke Networks CCTT course is comprised of three parts — classroom training, hands-‐on labs and
exam/certification exercises.
Technicians who complete this course:

Will fully understand the standards and technology that drives high-‐performance cabling systems.

Can demonstrate their understanding in a real world scenario using the cable analyzer to test,
troubleshoot and achieve optimal performance of new high performance cabling installations.

Apply their training in a wide variety of applications.

Learn how to take advantage of the powerful diagnostics and analysis capabilities of the cable
analyzer to complete cabling certification projects professionally, on-‐time and within budget.
§
Qualify for seven BICSI continuing education credits.
Duration
4 days at MGI Training Academy or suitably equipped customer training centre. MGI will provide all the
required testing equipment for this course and the course duration has been extended to allow for
additional practical hands-‐on time.

Structured Fiber installations:
o Standards (﴾ANSI/TIA, ISO/IEC, General)﴿
o Fiber installation planning (﴾Budget vs. Fixed parameters)﴿
o Testing methodologies (﴾Tier 1 -‐ OLTS, Tier 2 -‐ OTDR)﴿
o Diagnostics and inspection
Project documentation and reporting
Lab exercises: Students will be presented cables with numerous faults and flaws and through the knowledge
gained in the classroom they will be able to diagnose exactly what the issues are.
Instructor
Mr. Tomaz Ocepek is a current CCTT trainer with almost 10 years’ experience teaching copper and fibre
testing and certification and is one of the first instructors ever to achieve the CCTT Trainer certification. Mr.
Ocepek has also been a Professor of Computer Science at University of Ljubljana for over 14 years.
Course Format/Materials
9am to 5pm with breaks. The presentations will be a mix of whiteboard teaching, screen demos, PowerPoint
presentations and hands-‐on practical lab exercises.
