TROPHIES for All 4 Shoots!
These are invitational shoots and the Club Directors reserve the right to reject,
refund, or disqualify any contestant who, in their judgment, interferes with the
harmony of the shoot or violates ATA or safety rules and regulations. ATA rules
govern all events and referees will make decisions in accordance with them.
Targets and target settings will comply with ATA rules. A shooter may win only one
trophy in each event. If a shooter is eligible for more than one trophy, they are
responsible to notify shoot management within 15 minutes of the completion of that
event, which trophy they wish to take or shoot-off for. The declared “Special
Category” will be given priority if not chosen by shooter as stated.
Classification – Singles and Doubles:
Shooters will be classified according to their known ability and must have their
current average card and ATA membership card with them to enter. The following
system will be used:

A 95% and over
B 92% and < 95%
C 89% and < 92%
D Under 89%

Under 78%
Any shooter who shoots in a class or a handicap yardage higher or lower than the
assigned class or yardage will be subject to disqualification and are not eligible for
trophies or Lewis purse winnings.
Special Categories:
For the purposes of trophies, Veteran and Senior Veteran will be combined in
the Singles and Handicap events. For Singles and Handicap the other
Special Categories are Sub-Junior (under 15 years), Junior (15 –17 years),
and Lady. Doubles may have only one or two special categories, depending
on the shoot: Junior (Junior/SJ combined) and Lady. These categories must
be declared at registration before firing first shot. See specific shoot details.
Minimum Class Assignment:
Unless a shooter’s known ability can be established (eg. 500 registered
targets in the current and previous years combined, or known practice scores,
etc.), they will be assigned a minimum of class B (class C for Ladies and
Juniors, class D for Sub-Juniors) for the singles & doubles events. There will
be no penalty yardage assigned to the handicap events. Shooters will shoot
their assigned ATA handicap yardage (18 through 27 yards).
Directions to the Club :
Make-ups & Shoot-offs:
From Sturgis MI, drive west on US 12 to Shimmel Road. Turn Right (North) and
drive to Featherstone Road. Turn Right (East). Club is on the left about ½ mile.
From points west (Edwardsburg), drive east on US 12 to Shimmel Road. Turn
Left (North) to Featherstone Rd. Turn Right (East). Club is on the left about ½ mile.
Any shooter missing all or part of a round, should report to Registration for
make-up instructions within 15 minutes after the last squad of the event is
completed. Contestants in shoot-offs will be called over the PA system.
Those who fail to show within 10 minutes of second call for a shoot-off, forfeit
rights to that trophy. Shoot-offs are conducted after the last event of the day.
From Ohio: Take Interstate 80/90 to the Howe, IN exit. Go North to Sturgis, MI and
follow the Sturgis Directions above. Hotels are in the vicinity of Howe & Sturgis.

Daily: $5.00 (ATA $3.00, MTA $2.00) paid once per day only
MTA Target Assessment Fee: $2.00 per 100 targets


National Trapshooting Day T&T: $25.00 each Event
Youth (<18 years or AIM) Targets/Trophies: $15.00 per Event

National Trapshooting Day T&T Youth: $20.00 per Event

Options:
Lewis Class is offered for each event at all registered shoots. Payout is 2
classes with a 60/40 split of the monies per class. In the event there are less
than 13 entrants, there will be only 1 class. Minimum of 4 entrants to hold the
Lewis. Monies will be returned if there are less than 4 entrants in an event.

By attending and paying entry fees to
participate in any trap shoot held by or at The St. Joseph County Conservation & Sportsman
Club, Inc (i.e. the “Club”), Sturgis MI, the participants agree to the following:
I acknowledge and understand that trapshooting has inherent risks and dangers for anyone
attending this function. I am voluntarily attending or participating in this shoot with full
knowledge of the inherent dangers to myself (and to others) and hereby assume and accept
any and all risks of injury, up to and including death, to myself and to others. I, and my heirs,
hereby knowingly and intentionally waive, release, and hold harmless the “Club”, its officers,
the ATA, & trap help volunteers from and against any and all claims, suits, expenses, and
dangers sustained or incurred by myself or which I cause to others, that are related to or
arising from my participation in or attendance at this trap shoot.

OPEN TRAP & SKEET
St Joseph County Conservation & Sportsman Club, Inc is
open to the public “year round” on Sunday mornings at 9:00
am and Tuesday Evenings at 6:00pm.
The club also has one Skeet Field and a Flurry Bird Thrower
for the Skeet range that can throw 25 or 50 challenging clay
targets! They also play “Scrap” with 2 extra throwers!

YOUTH SHOOTERS are VERY WELCOME !
St. Joseph County Conservation & Sportsman Club, Inc. is promoting
the shotgun shooting sports through an active youth program. The club
has 4 active, certified shotgun coaches and offers the following 3 youth
programs. We believe the future of our sport will continue if we help our
youth become responsible, active participants. The team has received
NRA Foundation and MidwayUSA Foundation Grants to help
support the youth participation in these three beneficial programs.
4-H Shooting Sports (Trap & Skeet):
For youth ages 12-19 the Club offers the shotgun sports of Trap and
Skeet. Double Trap is also offered at the county level. The Club holds
practices on Thursday nights April through early September. The State
shoot is usually in August and the county shoot is held in September
before the St. Joseph County Grange Fair.
Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP):
For youth in Grades 12 and under, an SCTP team offers shotgun
competition in trap, skeet, and/or sporting clays. There are optional
competitions at the local, State, and National levels. The National
Shoot is currently held in Sparta IL. There are also opportunities for
Olympic “Bunker” Trap and Skeet. Call 269-483-6803 for details.
AIM – Youth Trap Shooting Program from ATA:
AIM stands for Academics, Integrity, and Marksmanship. This program
is for youth shooters from grade school through college age; up to age
23. Our Club offers this program for additional competitive trap
shooting opportunities within the ATA. This program offers individual,
as well as, team awards. Call 269-483-6803 for more information.
