Boardroom Events Shines Spotlight on IT Collaboration with CIO and Vendor Excellence Awards CIOs recognize excellence in categories including strategy and innovation ORLANDO, FL—April 22, 2015 – Boardroom Events today announced the winners of its Award of Excellence in the Office of the Midmarket CIO and Vendor Excellence Awards showcasing some of the very best in IT collaboration between CIOs and the solution providers that serve the midmarket. Presented at the Spring 2015 Midmarket CIO Forum, the awards recognize powerful partnerships between technology vendors and enterprise IT teams that deliver measurable value to the IT organizations. Mike Kelley, Director of Information Technology at MVT Services, was honored with the Award of Excellence in the Office of the Midmarket CIO for his partnership with Kubisys, while Aerohive Networks, Information Builders, Mimecast, Scale Computing, and Halo Business Intelligence were selected as the leaders in five categories for IT Vendor Excellence. Launched in 2009, the Award of Excellence for midmarket CIOs showcases exceptional technology implementations and the financial benefits they deliver to midsize organizations. The judging panel of CIOs selected Kelley from a competitive field of finalists because of his organization's successful partnership with Kubisys. For Kelley and his team, an imminent upgrade to the company’s business-‐critical content management system that tracked deliverables as well as ensuring proper client billing and driver payment loomed. The modest team lacked an accurate test environment, and one false step during the upgrade could result in expensive downtime. The Kubisys platform enabled MVT to accurately replicate production in a matter of hours, consequently saving the company 546 days and $786,240 in employee costs.
"My role—and that of my peer IT executives—requires that I think as much about business solutions as I do about technology solutions," noted Kelley. "In Kubisys, I have found a partner that understands how to help me and my team implement the technology tools and systems that will support the health and success of the business overall. This unique perspective is shared by so many of the IT executives and solution providers I meet at the Midmarket CIO Forum, and I am grateful to Boardroom Events for this honor and for the chance to build powerful business relationships at the forum." The Vendor Excellence Awards represent technology implementations that are helping to solve both technology and business challenges. The winners captured honors in the following categories: • Best Midmarket Solution, Hardware—Aerohive Networks, with runners-‐up including Kubisys and NewCloud Networks • Best Midmarket Solution, Software—Information Builders, with runners-‐up including Dell Boomi, Netreo, and OutSystems • Best Midmarket Solution, Service—Mimecast, with runners-‐up including 8x8, Datavail, and OSS Cube • Best Emerging Midmarket Solution—Halo Business Intelligence, with runners-‐up including Boardvantage, Infrascale, and Nativeflow • Best Midmarket Strategy—Scale Computing, with runners-‐up including Domo, Good Technology, and OpenDNS "Midmarket IT executives face the same complexities, but typically are constrained by smaller budgets than those at large organizations. This makes midmarket executives’ relationships with solution providers intensely valuable," said Boardroom Events Executive Vice President Hilary Badoian. "We’re proud to honor Mike Kelley and the partnership he has forged with Kubisys through our forums, and we’re excited to recognize our vendor award winners for continuing to deliver innovation and results for IT teams in this sector." The Midmarket CIO Forum takes place twice annually, with the next event scheduled for October 18-‐20, 2015, at the Hyatt Regency Lost Pines in Austin, TX. For more information, click here.
