Position Title: Resource and Community Development Specialist Reports To: Communications and Community Supports Coordinator Work Location: Main Office Position Summary: This position provides support for the implementation of the agency’s annual fund development and communications plans, and community support activities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Communications & Marketing q Assist with the development and implementation of agency communications & marketing plan. q Assist with implementation of agency branding standards. q Assist with agency website content management. q Prepare electronic newsletters. q Maintenance of agency blog. q Assist with social media content creation. q Assist with the creation of documents and other collateral materials utilized for general outreach (e.g., brochures, flyers, exhibit displays, etc.). q Creating press releases and pursuing story placement. q Coordinating exhibit activities and preparing related materials for various venues. Community Support & Engagement q Assist with the development and implementation of training and other tools to be used by CoCs and local service providers (e.g., toolkits/manuals, webinar presentations, podcasts, etc.). q Assist with the development and implementation of mini-grant programs, as funded. Fund Development q Assist in the development and monitoring of an annual fund development plan. q Engage in research of foundation, corporate, and new donor prospects. q Cultivate, solicit, and maintain relationships with foundation and corporate donors. q Assist in researching, writing, and editing of grant proposals/applications; and preparing and submitting subsequent reports to funding sources as required. q Assist in planning and implementing all programmatic and logistical aspects of agency fundraising events. q Assist with revenue generation through programmatic activities. q Assist with research of foundation, corporate, and new donor prospects. q Cultivate, solicit, and maintain relationships with foundation and corporate donors. q Assist with research, writing, and editing grant proposals/applications; and prepare and submit subsequent reports to funding sources as required. q Assist in the maintenance of donor, foundation, and corporate prospect databases. q Carry out other aspects of agency’s advancement efforts or special initiatives as needed. Membership q Assist in the development and implementation of a membership cultivation and strategic engagement plan, including member recruitment, regular communication with members, organizational member site visits, and resource and information development for members. Minimum Qualifications: q Bachelor’s degree in communication, human services, or other related program. q Program management, fundraising, membership, and/or marketing/communications experience required. q Understanding of human service system, especially with respect to homeless services, preferred. q Advanced technical skills, including computer skills and proficiency with MS Office. Requisite Candidate Traits: q Excellent organizational and problem solving skills; superior assessment/judgment. q High degree of initiative and strong time management skills. q Exceptional writing and editing skills. q Attention to detail. q Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills with ability to professionally represent the organization to prospective funding sources, membership and the community at-large. q Desire and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. q Desire to make a difference in the human service sector. Salary and Benefits: Salary: $12-14/hour. Comprehensive benefits package including medical and dental insurance, paid holidays, accrued vacation and sick time, and 403(b) plan.
