DAAD IN-COUNTRY/IN-REGION SCHOLARSHIP FOR POSTGRADUATE STUDIES IN 2015/2016 ACADEMIC YEAR CALL FOR APPLICATIONS The Moshi Co-operative University is hereby inviting qualified individual to apply for admission to three (3) PhD and five (5) Masters scholarships for DAAD In-CountryInRegion Programme for 2015/2016 intake. The Postgraduate Programmes offered by the University are as follows: S/N 1. 2. 3. 4. Programmes Master of Business Management Master of Procurement and Supply Management Master of Co-operative and Community Development Ph.D in Cooperation, Business studies, Finance, Environmental Entrepreneurship, Management, Gender and Development studies studies, MINIMUM ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS Masters degree i. At least a Second Class Bachelor’s Degree from recognized institutions of higher learning; OR ii. Postgraduate Diploma from recognized institutions of higher learning; OR iii. Professional qualifications from recognized Professional Boards such as CPA, ACCA, CIA or CSP. Doctor of Philosophy( By research only) For Ph.D applicants, a candidate should posses a good Master’s degree from recognized institutions of higher learning. DAAD APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS a. b. c. d. e. f. g. The last university degree must have been completed within at least less than six years ago at the time of application. Citizenship of a country in Sub-Saharan Africa Bachelor’s and/Master’s degree qualifications with at least above average results Proof of admission to the desired degree course or official letter assuring admission For PhD scholarships: Staff member of a public or private university (or candidate considered for teaching or research staff recruitment) Highly motivated candidates who are able to complete their studies for up to maximum of two years (masters) and three years (Ph.D) Not already enrolled in a Ph. Filled and signed DAAD application Form for In-Country Scholarship Signed curriculum vitae; use the Europass CV template (http://europass.cedefop.europa.eu) A signed copy of this DAAD information Sheet for Students Certified copies of all University degree certificates Certified copies of all University transcripts At least temporary admission letter including fee structure of respective course (original or certified copy) For Masters Candidates A letter of motivation (maximum 2 pages) Academic reference from senior lecturer and proof of employment For Ph.D candidates Ph.D research proposal and detailed work plan (10 to 15 pages); plagiarism will be checked! Abstract of the proposal on one page (include name and title of the proposal) Recommendation letter by head of department indicating that you are a present member of staff Confirmation of study leave /teaching release from your employer PhD proposals must demonstrate relevance to development. DURATION AND COMMENCEMENT Scholarships are available for up to a maximum of two years (Master) and three years (PhD) respectively. The scholarship will be initially granted for one year and may be extended upon individual request and receipt of a complete application by using the provided form. APPLICATION FORMS 1.
