 THERE WILL BE A MANDATORY meeting in the ASB room this Friday for all the students who submitted an
application to run for an ASB or Class office. The meeting will begin promptly at 12:45. Please arrive on time. Contact
Mr. Mendoza if you cannot attend.
 ATTENTION JUNIORS! There is a meeting during lunch on Monday in room 202. All Junior Officers must be there.
 CSF OFFICER APPLICATIONS for next school year available with Mrs. Jones in room 208. Due by end of
semester. Elections to be held in Fall.

can't make it, please show up 30 min early at 5:00pm tonight at faculty lounge.
 TO HELP CELEBRATE NATIONAL POETRY MONTH, go online to the Mission Oak High School web site and read
the latest edition of the Mission Oak Review - The Poetry Issue. Also, the first fifty people attend tonight’s Writers' Cafe
will receive a complementary bound copy of the Poetry Issue. Many of the authors will be there - you can get them to
autograph your copy and when they become famous you can sell it on ebay!
 INTERACT CLUB is collecting items in period 2 classes to donate to the Lighthouse Rescue Mission. Bring your extra
unused toiletries including soap, toothpaste, shampoo, etc. to your 2nd period class. Collection ends April
24th. Winning class will get a free breakfast from Interact Club.
 ARE YOU INTERESTED in getting more involved in your school? Do you love to cheer on your favorite players or
sports at school games? Do you love to dance every time you hear music? Well the Mission Oak Pep Squad might be
the place for you! Cheer sign-up packets will be available to pick up starting Monday April 20th. All packets are due to
Mr. Robles by April 30th. NO LATE APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED. Cheer Clinics will be held May 11th-14th,
with tryouts on May 15th.

 SOPHOMORES interested in applying for AP US History, your applications are due to Mr. Flores in room 112

 AP PSYCHOLOGY: All forms must be turned in by Friday 4/24 at 3:10 in room 606. Mrs. Luttrell will be taking the list
to the counseling office after school on Friday.
 FRESHMEN WHO ARE INTERESTED in taking world history honors next year, don't forget to turn in your application
BEFORE, Thursday April 30, 2015; this means the application MUST be on my desk by Wednesday April
28 by 12:45(remember Wednesday April 29 is a minimum day).
 ATTENTION FRESHMEN: If you signed up for Honors Biology next year you must attend a meeting today at 12:30 in
rm 121. Failure to attend will result in you being dropped from the course! If you have questions please see Ms. Brown
in rm 121.
 SOPHOMORES/JUNIORS: Are you interested in working in the office next school year as a paid employee? If
so, please stop by the Counseling Nest and pick up an application and return to Mrs. Gomes by Friday, May
22nd. Must have excellent attendance, no discipline, and a minimum GPA of 2.5.
 SENIORS: All seniors are invited and encouraged to attend a Catholic mass in your honor at St. Aloysius Catholic
Church, at 125 E. Pleasant St. in Tulare, on Sunday, May 31, 2015 at 11:15 a.m. Please gather in front of the
church by 10:50 a.m. wearing your cap and gown.
 SENIORS: VERY IMPORTANT!! If you have received a scholarship that you would like announced at
Scholarship night, May 19, 2015, please fill out a form in the career center and give it to Mrs. Aguilar by
Wednesday May 6, 2015.
 LISTEN UP SENIORS! Are you ready to show your Talent? We will have signups for the Senior Show tryouts at the
Counseling Window until the 24th.
 SENIORS! LISTEN UP! Are you attending a four year university? We would like to recognize you for this great
academic achievement? We love our Mission Oak scholars and want you to get the praise you deserve for your
handwork in school. Fill out a form that can be picked up from your English class or at counseling office window. They
can be turned into the Counseling Office, Mr. Mendoza in room 110, or the ASB Class in room 700 during third period.
 THOSE PLANNING ON PLAYING FOOTBALL next year, there will be a mandatory meeting today during lunch in the
gym!
 THE CITY OF TULARE PARKS & RECREATION Department is currently recruiting for the “2015-2016 Teen Hero
Program”. Teen Heroes are high school students who are respected by their peers and the academic community.
Once selected, Teen Heroes commit to completing 100 hours of volunteer work or community service. They are
role models for children of Tulare and will visit recreation programs and events during the year. Teen Hero
representatives also speak to participants about healthy lifestyles and encourage youth to believe in themselves
and to not just reach for their goals, but to chase them. Current Juniors who are interested can pick up information
and applications in the counseling office. Application Deadline is FRIDAY, April 24, 2015
 THE RIVALRY RUN is coming September 19th! The Tulare Joint Union High School District Foundation
wants your help to create a poster to advertise our 3rd Annual Rivalry Run. See any Art or Graphic Art Teacher for a
copy of the Poster Contest entry form. There will also be forms available in the office. Winning entries from two
categories will each get $50! Entries are due to the District Office by May 15th.

MESSAGE FROM THE DISTRICT OFFICE: The end of the school year is rapidly approaching. We will be accepting NO
“out of state” purchase requests after April 1, 2015, and no purchase requests of any kind after May 1, 2015. Please plan
ahead for your purchases now so as to avoid the last minute rush. If you have an emergency need after these dates, you
will need an approval from the Superintendent. The school principal must present such requests. Your cooperation is very
much appreciated.
AS THE END OF THE SCHOOL YEAR APPROACHES the number of checks returned for non-sufficient funds grows
exponentially. As a result, the following procedure must be used for money collection at the end of the year: AFTER MAY
1, 2015, ALL MONEY COLLECTED (INCLUDING LUNCH PAYMENTS AND ASB FUNDRAISERS) MUST BE IN THE
FORM OF CASH OR MONEY ORDER. NO CHECKS WILL BE ACCEPTED.
