Position: Projec10 Ambassador About Projec10 Projec10 is an innovative fundraising and engagement campaign aimed at children aged 10-14 years, challenging participants to model microfinance to give money to microfinance. Start small, Make big, Be the change. Projec10 is primarily working through schools to run Projec10 as an integrated learning activity for students from Years 5-8. Projec10 is affiliated with Opportunity International - a global microfinance organisation providing financial solutions empowering people living in poverty to transform their lives, their children’s futures and their communities. Projec10 seeks to educate and empower Australian youth to be active in addressing inequality, as well as raise funds for Opportunity International’s microfinance projects. The Projec10 campaign challenges youth to start with $10 seed money and do something to make it grow. The profits from their own mini enterprise (carwash, bake sale, etc) are donated to Opportunity’s Youth Apprentice Program in Ghana Africa. In 2015, Monash SEED is partnering with Projec10 so that Monash students can use their skills to empower both Australian and Ghanaian youth. Position Summary The Projec10 Ambassador will work with the Opportunity International Partnership Director to help expand and grow Projec10. This will involve managing the process of recruitment and implementation of the campaign across schools in Melbourne. The ideal applicant would also advocate Projec10 across social media and other networks. The applicant must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and must have a penchant for organisation. Basic background knowledge about the microfinance industry is preferred but not required, and a passion for social justice is essential. If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you. This is a role that requires significant time and effort, but can be incredibly rewarding for those who wish to see a world made better through tools of economic development. Estimated time commitment:5-6 hours per week.
