This weekend is a great celebration of being loved by God, growing in maturity to understand the difference between bread and the Eucharist and continuing initiation membership into the Church! It’s very exciting and the long anticipated joy becomes reality this weekend! Our whole parish delights in this great accomplishment! Special thank you to our parents for bringing their children to church and teaching the faith at home and to our school teachers and faith formation catechists who assist the parents in reiterating what is taught in the home. We are grateful for your example to help raise young people to be the next leaders in the Church. Communion with God is a great gift to be appreciated. The Gospel proclaims that Jesus is the vine and his followers are the branches showing our connectedness (communion) with Jesus. We abide in God and God remains with us. This image symbolizes a loving relationship between Jesus and those he nurtures. The vine is the sign of our life and growth in the Body of Christ. We also remember that the vine depicts the Church as assembly of people who are given life and grow together from the same source – Jesus Christ. The vine is a reminder that we also must bear fruit and blossom to reveal the life that we have been given in Christ. May we continue to rely on our communion with God and one another to reveal the love of God to all. Thank you all for making our parish great!
