Email Campaign Invites CareFirst Members to Join New Market Research Panel
CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield (CareFirst) has created a new online market research panel called CareFirst
Opinion Central. The purpose of this online panel is to gather member feedback in an effort to improve
our products and communications.
Joining CareFirst Opinion Central
CareFirst’s Market Research department will send emails to 300,000 members (Consumer Direct,
Small/Mid and Large Group) who have consented to receive electronic communications. These emails will
go out in waves of 10,000 beginning the week of April 27, 2015. A copy of the first email that invites
members to join CareFirst Opinion Central is attached.
About one week after the initial email is sent, members who did not join CareFirst Opinion Central will
receive a follow-up email.
How it works
For Market Research to segment panels and better determine which surveys are distributed, members
will be asked to fill out an initial online questionnaire consisting of demographic questions. Not all panel
members will be asked to complete each survey. Market Research anticipates emailing members 12-24
times a year to ask them to participate in online surveys. Members also have the option to decline any
surveys and can opt out of CareFirst Opinion Central at any time.
To thank panel members for participating, anyone who completes at least one survey per quarter will be
entered into a sweepstakes to win one of ten $25 gift cards. Drawings will be held once a quarter.
