Upcoming dates : We are almost to the end of this 4th Grade year. I am amazed, as always, that time passes so very quickly. It has been a good year. Each one of my students in room 266 has grown in numerous ways. They have matured and learned a great deal. We still have six days to go. Don’t think we are stopping! We have much work to do and tests to take this next week. We have the award day on the following Monday and the 4th grade Lunch on the last Tuesday. There will be plenty of work between now and then. Research papers (Q4 Writing Prompt) are due TUESDAY. Each student was given a check list for this project. Please ask to see this checklist and help him/her make sure that each item is covered. I hope you have a safe and enjoyable weekend. I am not giving home practice this weekend EXCEPT to finish their research papers. We started researching these over two weeks ago. Some fun things to do with your kids might include: A trip to Corydon. Your child should be able to tell you about the historical places in Corydon, IN. The Capitol Building, Zimmerman Art Glass, the Constitution Elm, The old house and law office. You could even picnic in the park at Hays Wood Park. all kinds of exhibits, shows, and a movie theater. This beautiful building is also directly in front of the canal reconstruction that you can walk along and enjoy the weather. This is certainly a must visit if you have a day for Indianapolis. The Eideljorg Museum is an amazing place right next door where you can see beautiful exhibits on Native Americans. Cool place. The NCAA museum is also on the other side of the state museum. It used to cost only $3 for a tour. Kind of neat and quick for sports fans. A trip to The Indiana Children’s Museum in Indianapolis. This is a wonderful place that has a carousel, water play area—not swimming area but one to work with water and boats, a full size train, a large dinosaur exhibit e, and many other things !!! We used to take students there and they were kept busy for quite some time! The Indiana State Museum and Eideljorg Native American Museum in downtown Indianapolis.
