PARENT NEWS AND NOTICES
OUR CAPITAL PROJECTS
ARE IN FULL SWING
The first phase of landscaping
around the Main Administration
Office has been completed. It looks
fantastic and creates a softer look
of our School from the street front.
The air conditioning project is
progressing well with the AC units
installed and connection of the units
in progress. The redevelopment at
Chapel Street and the relocation of
the ELC is reaching final planning
stage awaiting building approval. I
would like to thank and honour the
Board of Directors and the leadership
of Tyndale Christian School, Mr Mike
Potter and Mr Andrew Davies for
the vision to invest in our School
abundantly.
We wish to congratulate Mr Scott
Harmer with his election as Chair
of the School Board. We want to
pray God’s blessing over Mr Harmer
and the School Board as they have
a huge responsibility fulfilling their
roles as Directors.
We are pleased to announce that Mrs
Rebecca Spencer has been appointed
as a replacement for Mrs Kerry Billing
while on Long Service
Leave during the
second half of Term 2.

INTO THE PRIMARY
students thrive
on science show
Our Primary Students had a visit from SciWorld on
Tuesday 19 May. There was much excitement in the
Primary when the students experienced a curriculum
based Science show.
The Reception to Year 6 Students participated in
experiments on topics such as motion, friction, chemistry,
gravity, sound, light and much more. There were many
highlights including the exploding balloon and foaming
volcano. Students were amazed at the wonders of
Science and this experience has helped
to scaffold the learning that is taking
place inside the classroom.

On 15 May we travelled
to chilly Hahndorf to play
Hahndorf Primary in the
SAPSASA knock out soccer
competition.
It was an exciting and nail
biting game with creative
and athletic flare shown by
both sides.
With scores locked at 2
goals each at full time,
students then played an
extra 10 mintues to decide
the winner. 6 minutes in,
Hamish Goodman dodged
two players and slotted the
ball through for a golden
goal, winning the game.
Alex Twartz and Hamish
Goodman were stand out
performers on the day.
Hamish scored 2 goals
for the day and Josiah M

scoring a goal.
Students

Tyndale Christian School
well with a positive
attitude.
Thank you to Mr Sands
and Issac Herrmann for
umpiring the game on the
day.
Well done and thank you to
Joe Goodman for coaching
the boys for the game.
Our Primary Students have been thriving
on the new art program that was
launched this week.
Miss Ellie Sih (Secondary Art Teacher)
has been working closely with the
students and their teachers to teach
them new skills.
This week the students used a couple
of different mediums, these being:
water colours to paint landscapes and
lino prints to place animals on their
landscapes.
Thank you Miss Sih for what you are
doing and we look forward to seeing
more master pieces around the School.

SECONDARY STUDENT NEWS
year 11’s learn
about road safety
On Wednesday 13 May the Year
11 class ventured all the way
to the Entertainment Centre to
attend RAA’s Street Smart High,
and learn about safe driving.
From the presentation, we
learnt some very valuable skills
such as what to do if you find
yourself or someone else in a
car crash, as well as learning the
importance of not distracting
yourself, or others in the car,
as a split second decision can
change your life forever.
Overall the presentation had a
great impact on all of us, and
will be something we remember
every time we get into a car.

finniss team
shoots to win
With the weather causing
hassle and delays to the
Middle School Netball

final was on Friday 15
May.
The first week Bremer

Final
shoot
out, never before been
conducted, also took
Finniss to the Grand
Final. The final shoot out
made the teams pick five
of their players to shoot
from approximately midrange in the circle. The
first round having a tie
of 2 goals each, and
Finniss scoring then 2
to Murray’s 1 goal in the
second round.
Finniss
and
Bremer
finally had sufficient
player
numbers
to
compete in the Grand
Final as many external
school events interfered.
Throughout the first half
many excellent displays
were made in defense by
Bremer but against the
impeccable Goal work
from Finniss, Finniss lead

by one at half time. The
next half showed that
Bremer had some fight
left in them working with
incredible teamwork and
ball skills, Finniss were
including every player
as much as possible to
make the way with ease
to the other end of the
courtloop. Even with
Bremer’s efforts Finniss
held on strong to take
the win.
Appreciation is to go
towards the Year 10, 11
and 12 students who
willingly umpired the
games, scored or timed
as well as all the Middle
School Students who
participated.
Excellent sportsmanship
was
displayed
and
respect to the leaders
was also commendable.

WHOLE SCHOOL NEWS
First cross country
carnvial a big hit
Our School held it’s first Cross
Country Carnival on 20 May at
Mr Allen’s house just outside of
Strathalbyn. Students battled
the elements throughout the
day demonstrating physical
and mental perseverance and
endurance. Students soon ran
off the chill in the 500m, 2km
and 3km runs. The rolling
hills, creek crossings, logs
and trees proved to add to
the challenge but students
managed to take it in their
stride.
Thanks to all the teaching
staff who supported the day
and made it so successful.
A special Thank you to Ryan
Mcgowan, Johan Griesel,
and Amy Muirhead (student
teacher) for helping set up
and time on the day. Thank
you to Lynette Whittaker for
coordinating the bus runs for
all of the students. Thank you
to John Newell and Bruce
Cameron for driving the Bus.
Thank you to the Marshalls
(Riley Perry, Cathrine Griffiths,
Tameka Richardson, James
Catt and Thomas Rowe) for
marshaling on
the day.
