Notice-Choose-Tell instructions for students
Notice•Choose•Tell Quick Start Guide for Students
What is Notice·Choose·Tell?
Notice·Choose·Tell is a web-based application designed to help you learn more about
yourself, articulate your background and experience to others and ultimately make more informed and meaningful
choices about your Union education and beyond.
Why should you use the Notice·Choose·Tell app?
● To help you make better choices about your academic path,
activities and life beyond Union.
● To help you have more productive meetings with your
academic advisor(s) so you can make more informed
decisions about coursework and academic opportunities.
● To learn how to communicate your experiences, skills,
strengths and weaknesses to employers or graduate and professional schools.
How does the Notice·Choose·Tell app work?
1. Login on your computer, tablet, or mobile device at
http://nct.union.edu
.
2. Decide if you want to
Notice or Choose
.
3. You will then be given a series of short prompts to consider:
If you don’t want to answer any of the prompts you get,
you can see different prompts or view all prompts and
choose from them.
4. When you click on a prompt, you will be given a longer
description of the prompt and space to write: No one
will see this
unless you choose to share it with your
academic advisor, or another faculty advisor on
campus.
5. Hit Save. You can go back and edit it any time until the
end of the term.
What is “Inspire Me”?
Unsure what to write? Click on “Inspire Me” to see how other students have answered the prompt. Answer as many
prompts as you wish, whenever you wish, and share as many or as few as you would like. Click
“Submit to Inspire
Me”
if you are willing to share what you wrote with your fellow students!
What is the Tell prompt?
Create a Tell once a term. A “Tell” summarizes what you’ve learned about yourself from answering Notice and/or
Choose prompts and is shared with your advisor to help in the advising process. You’ll learn how to articulate your
experiences in interesting and succinct ways, an invaluable skill when at any point in your academic or professional
career. Your regular advising meeting is an opportunity to discuss your Tell.
