DIACID 1550 Recognized by EPA as a Safer Choice Product
CHARLESTON, S.C., April 13, 2015 — Safe chemicals…it’s not an oxymoron. The U.S.
Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) developed the Safer Choice program to help
consumers identify chemical products that are considered safe for human health and the
environment while also being high performing. Recently, MWV Specialty Chemicals’ DIACID
1550 was approved by the U.S. EPA to carry the Safer Choice label.
“DIACID 1550 is a designed specialty chemical and finds its way into many markets, such as
metalworking fluids and soaps and detergents, as a hydrotrope or emulsifier. Safety is one of
our company’s core values and providing safe chemicals to these markets is important to us
and our customers which is why we are very excited about the Safer Choice program. Now,
participants in the Safer Choice program can choose to use our high performing, bio-based
surfactant for their formulating needs. We consider it a win-win for everyone involved,” said
Dana Durham, Technical Director, MWV Specialty Chemicals.
