SMEEs Fair participation within the PSD project
Venue: Celje, Slovenia
Dates: April 21-24, 2015
Within the Private Sector Development - PSD Project financed by USAID, and
implemented by the National Agency for Regional Development with four
Regional Development Agencies (RDA Uzice, RDA Novi Pazar, RDA Kraljevo and
RDA Leskovac) it is predicted to provide the support to SME sector in the
business internationalization for Light industry, Agrofood sector and Textile
sector.
Through this support, it is foreseen to allocate the resources from PSD project
budget and therefore to provide free performance at the international sectoral
fairs for SME sector from 3 cities and 9 municipalities that are geographically
included in PSD project.
In order to provide the support to SME sector in the business internationalization,
for Light industry sector, the fair participation at 13th FormaTool Fair was realized
in the period 21-24.04.2015. in Celje, Slovenia.
In total, there were more than 500 international exhibitors at the fair FormaTool
2015, located in 15 exhibition halls.
Within the PSD project, 9 exhibitors-PSD project beneficiaries from south and
south-west Serbia presented themselves on a joint stand:










There were numerous business meetings held at the stand with interested and
potential business partners of companies-exhibitors from Serbia.

The stand was also visited by the companies
from Slovenia with which the initial business
contacts were established during the IHM fair held in March 2015 in Munich, when the PSD
stand was visited by the delegation of
Slovenian entrepreneurs organized by the
Chamber of Craft and Small Business of
Slovenia (OZS).
Within the FormaTool fair, as an additional support to exhibitors and clients of
PSD project from Serbia, the opportunity was given for participation in business
meetings covered by Enterprise Europe Network Project.
There were in total 55 applied, out of which there were 7 participants from
Serbia, who participated at the business matchmakings, and more than 20
formal and informal meetings were held.
All exhibitors and clients within PSD project expressed their satisfaction for the
performance at the fair.
In the forthcoming period the feedback is expected from the Regional
development agencies from Novi Pazar, Leskovac and Uzice, as well as from the
clients-exhibitors we expect to receive the reports on potentially scheduled
business arrangements as a result of their fair participation, and the participation
at the international business meetings held within the 13th FormaTool Fair 2015
in Celje.

A word from a client
Besides he IHM fair in Munich, the company "Cerak" from Vranje has also
participated in the international fair "FormaTool". There is a noticeable
difference in the acceptance and potential cooperation with companies from
Serbia, in comparison with the IHM in Munich and companies from Germany. A
significant number of companies want to cooperate with Serbian companies,
although they are mainly looking for the market here, but there is also an
interest in a joint appearance on third markets, as well as in purchasing our
goods...
On the B2B meetings, I had 7 applied companies, but one company stands
out, which is interested, and which has announced the visit to our company.
On the stand itself, I have recorded twenty significant contacts that are
different from other meetings. I can express my satisfaction with the
participation in the fair, and I also consider that I should mention a few high
quality conversations with exhibitors at the stand, who are selling the
equipment-actually the machines that I am in need of.
The company "CERAK" as an already achieved result of the fair performance in
Munich, at the IHM fair, has adopted the new product (platform for ladders)
that was already sent to a potential partner in Germany. The testing and
certification of the product are on-going.
This business stay in Celje and Slovenia, allowed me to compare the EU
markets, the region and Serbia, and to meet the market needs and
requirements in the metal industry, so to be more competitive in the future.
As for the design and arrangement, the stand was functional and well
designed, and the staff at the stand was very polite and professional.
