Presenters:
Dr. Christine Harrington is an Assistant Professor in the Department
of Nursing and Health Sciences at Malone University. Her clinical
and classroom teaching focuses on critical care. She has worked
in urban and rural emergency departments for 21 years and
currently maintains her skills working part time in a busy
Emergency/Trauma Center that has stimulated her interest in
infectious disease transmission.
Nancy and David Writebol are missionaries serving with SIM
(Serving in Mission) in Liberia as the Country Director and the
Personnel Coordinator. Their missionary career has included
service in both Ecuador and Zambia caring for orphans and
conducting Bible study classes. They have two grown sons and six
grandchildren. As the Ebola crisis emerged in Liberia, Nancy was
serving as hygienist at SIM’s Eternal Love Winning Africa (ELWA)
Hospital and David as the Manager of Technical Services on the
ELWA Compound where Ebola Treatment Units were
established. Nancy was the second Ebola patient to be
evacuated to the U.S. for treatment.
