Infectious Diseases: Christian Nurses and the Privilege of Caring for Patients Participants will update their knowledge on infectious diseases and the role of Christian nurses in patient care. NEO CMDA Celebration 2015 will be held at Christ Community Chapel in Hudson the evening of Saturday April 18th with a presentation by Nancy Writebol. Contact Stacey Prestegaard neocmda@gmail.com www.neocmda.com Presenters: Dr. Christine Harrington is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Nursing and Health Sciences at Malone University. Her clinical and classroom teaching focuses on critical care. She has worked in urban and rural emergency departments for 21 years and currently maintains her skills working part time in a busy Emergency/Trauma Center that has stimulated her interest in infectious disease transmission. Nancy and David Writebol are missionaries serving with SIM (Serving in Mission) in Liberia as the Country Director and the Personnel Coordinator. Their missionary career has included service in both Ecuador and Zambia caring for orphans and conducting Bible study classes. They have two grown sons and six grandchildren. As the Ebola crisis emerged in Liberia, Nancy was serving as hygienist at SIM’s Eternal Love Winning Africa (ELWA) Hospital and David as the Manager of Technical Services on the ELWA Compound where Ebola Treatment Units were established. Nancy was the second Ebola patient to be evacuated to the U.S. for treatment. Cost: Fees cover seminar, handouts, and snack and can be found on the registration form on the reverse side.
