PRESIDENT’S CLICK: Master the Art of Conflict Resolution
How we manage conflict is influenced by many factors, including which part of the brain
is engaged. This workshop will teach Presidents how to help their Chapter members feel
safe, valued, and respected in order to avoid destructive conflict and reach creative
solutions. Participants will practice these skills, using real situations that commonly occur
in NCL Chapters.
PRESIDENT ELECT’S CLICK: Communicating for Engagement
Who you are is inseparable from what you communicate, or so it has been said. So
whether you’re crafting an email, report, newsletter article or a live presentation, the
information you deliver will set the stage for member engagement or not! Knowing the
right balance, content and how to position your message specific to your audience is key
to your success as chief communicator. We’ll look at best practices in chapters across
the country, common pitfalls that can create barriers and provide ideas for presenting the
most critical information in a compelling way, so that everyone listens.

Growing NCL’s Culture of Mentoring
NCL has enjoyed a long history of sponsorship and mentorship. This workshop takes
mentoring to the next level, by offering a way to think about how mentoring can benefit all
members of the Chapter, from Provisionals to Chapter Board members. If you are or will
be a Chapter President, Provisional VP, or any other Board member, you will learn how
to mentor for success, engage Chapter members to be active and productive, and
guarantee a steady pipeline of successors.
Showers of Ideas - NCL’s Premier Programming Forum
Infuse your chapter with dynamic programming that delivers the best of NCL’s mission
pillars! We’ll provide resources, tools and activities that are key to strengthening each
pillar; we’ll take a look at the top trends in chapter programming and provide tips on
refreshing your NCL traditions.
Ticktocker Training and Mentoring… Making The Experience Relevant
Actively involving your Ticktockers in planning and execution throughout the year is an
effective way to develop critical leadership skills such as team building, decision-making
and public speaking. Learn how to create leadership opportunities within The NCL
Experience that maximize every Ticktocker’s capability as a leader and her ability to step
up to a variety of roles now and well into the future.

President’s Club – Financially Healthy Chapters
Practicing sound fiscal management, following policies, and maintaining correct
documentation is the key to financially healthy chapters. As the CEO of the corporation,
the President is ultimately responsible for knowing all the rules and providing sufficient
oversight. Join us as we discuss how you can engage your entire Board team in
reviewing your budgets, financial reporting, assessing your insurance risks, and
governance issues.
Everything You Always Wanted To Know About The NCL Brand!
NCL’s brand is the sum total of the experiences others have with us as an organization
whether a prospective member, another NCL chapter, philanthropy partners and donors.
From where you are standing, what does that look like? In this workshop, we’ll utilize a
panel format to examine all aspects of our brand from the practical to the technical. We’ll
discuss how brand translates into the work we do both in the chapter and in our
communities and how NCL is setting standards to strengthen our brand with the unveiling
of the new brand governance manual. Panel members will include a NDC, Chartered
Chapter President, Expansion Chapter President, District Specialist and a Ticktocker,
represented from various parts of the country.
Chapter Policies Writing Workshop, Part I
Are you responsible for developing your Chapter Policies and Procedures Manual? Then
plan to attend the Chapter Policies Writing Workshop! Attendees must bring a laptop and
existing Chapter policies material, which might consist of Standing Rules or other
Chapter-specific documentation. Attendees will be provided with a toolkit and coaches to
ensure that the Chapter's Policies and Procedures Manual gets off to a fast start! This
two-part session is open to one representative per Chapter; both sessions
required.

Often we are so consumed with the current issue du jour and putting out the “fires” that
we don’t set aside the time to take a look at the real opportunities that will ensure the
health of our chapter. Join us as we focus on strategies to help identify risks so that you
can safeguard your chapter and ensure it is stronger than ever. Discover ways to include
your entire Board in this discussion, perhaps at your next Chapter Board Retreat.
Remember, the greatest legacy you can give your chapter is its health and viability for a
sustained future. Let us begin to identify those opportunities and lead for the long term.
IMPACT: The Fundamentals of Philanthropy
In this workshop, we’ll show you innovative ways to measure impact in numbers, and
stories! We’ll provide tools for evaluating philanthropies, ideas for integrating philanthropy
into programming and ways to enrich The NCL Experience through special events like
the National Philanthropy Initiative.
