PUBLIC SPEAKING CONTEST Saturday, July 11, 2015, 5:00 p.m. Nelson County Civic Center, 317 S. 3rd Street, Bardstown, Ky. Committee: NC 4-H Extension, FFA Advisors, NC Farm Bureau TWO MINUTE SPEECH (TOPIC CAN BE ANYTHING AGRICULTURE RELATED) PRIZES: Open Show winner receives a full-week pass to the Nelson County Fair. All other participants receive a one-day pass to the Fair. Open Show: $100- 1st Place $50 - Runner Up 4-H Member: Grand Champion Reserve FFA Awards: Certificates Plaques Farm Bureau Membership is not required for open class contest. NELSON COUNTY FARM BUREAU PRIZES: Highest Nelson County Farm Bureau Female and Male MEMBER scorer will receive $100 and be named Male and/or Female Farm Bureau Outstanding Youth and compete at the 5th District Contest. (*see below) Runner Up will receive $50. OPEN SHOW RULES - Contestant must be… 1. a resident of Nelson County; 2. 15-years old at the time of the contest, but not have reached 19-years old, by January 1, 2016; 3. submit simple application by the deadline; July 9, 2015, 4:00 p.m. to the offices below. *FARM BUREAU CONTEST RULES – member winners must… 1. have a parent/guardian who has their membership with the Nelson County Farm Bureau; 2. represent Nelson County Farm Bureau at the 5 th District Contest held at night between October and November in a nearby county; (NC Farm Bureau $100 award would be presented that night.) 3. represent the 5th District following the Kentucky Farm Bureau Rules, if winning the District Contest, as one of Kentucky’s 11 district finalists (male and female) will compete for significant prizes at the Kentucky Farm Bureau State Convention at the Galt House in Louisville on a Thursday night in early December APPLICATION: Nelson County Farm Bureau Office, 106 Reardon Blvd, Bardstown, rd Ky, 502-348-8446 or Nelson County 4-H Extension Office, 317 S. 3 St., Bardstown, Ky. 502-348-9204.
