Our Society depends primarily on membership dues for its continued operations and funding of its activities, such as our King’s Day Reception and Children's party, Picnic, and Sinterklaas. Our annual dues for 2015 will be $40 for families, and as in previous years $20 for individuals, and $15 individual seniors 65+. Please return the membership form and payment no later than 1 May 2015, or have your check ready for our treasurer Jeroen when you sign in at the King's Day reception. Children can expect fun traditional Dutch games, such as zak lopen, koek happen etc. Lunch and soft drinks are provided. Feel free to bring something else to drink or eat. Please RSVP so that we can plan to have enough for everyone. Sunday April 26, 4.00 - 6.00 PM - King's Day Reception at Gretchen's Inn $10 per member and $15.00 for non-members. Payment by check is preferred. We'll have hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. Gretchen's Inn is the banquet center behind the Feasting Fox, 4200 S. Grand, in South St. Louis, (at the corner of South Grand and Meramec). Other News & Updates Stamppot Dinner The fourth annual Stamppot dinner hosted by the Boswinkels was a smashing success! A variety of typical Dutch dishes were enjoyed by all. Passport Renewal in Chicago Starting October 1st, the Consulate General in Chicago will no longer issue Dutch Passports. Dutch citizens will have to go to either New York, Washington, Miami, San Francisco or Schiphol Airport to renew or apply for a Dutch passport. They are scheduled to visit Grand Rapids, Michigan and Chicago, Illinois in addition to Washington, DC. Their visit reinforces the strong and enduring ties between the United States and the Netherlands that reach back more than 400 years. The King and Queen were last hosted at the White House as the Crown Prince and Princess on September 11, 2009.
