MINISTRY SPOTLIGHT SEE Newsletter SERVE - ENCOURAGE - EQUIP - WIN SOULS Good Friday Message From Our Pastor Blessed Easter Saints, Let me start by saying thank you for your commitment to the Lord and to the Church. As I study the word, listen to the Spirit I can’t help but believe that God is up to an awesome work in this hour. I pray that each of us get locked into the will and purpose of God and not allow anything or anyone to hinder us. How do I know if I am locked in and pushing forward? I’m thankful for the young men that God has placed in my life as they provoke me to much thought. Consider this question.... Are you giving God your “best” or are you giving God your “all”? ....and before you answer, in the context in which I ask yes one is much better than the other (Mk. 12:43-44 & 1 Sam. 15:9). I think you would agree with me that caring for others and serving is a fundamental responsibility of all Christians. But I caution you to be mindful of what you try to give God, more times than not, it is you that He desire. Having consider this in light of Easter, look at what God did for you and I. He served us, cared for us and died for us. God’s commitment to us is unquestionable, Jesus faithfulness to us is unshakable, the Holy Spirit’s love for us is unbelievable. To think about all that God did for us on the cross, how could you not give Him what He request. Yes He gave His ’best’ but He didn’t stop there, He went all the way and gave us His all! ….also known as "Holy Friday," is the Friday immediately preceding Easter Sunday. It is celebrated traditionally as the day on which Jesus was crucified. Why is Good Friday referred to as “good”? What the Jewish authorities and Romans did to Jesus was definitely not good (see Matthew chapters 26-27). However, the results of Christ’s death are very good! Romans 5:8, “But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” 1 Peter 3:18 tells us, “For Christ died for sinners once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive by the Spirit.” UPCOMING EVENTS/ACTIVITIES SUNDAY SERMONS For the month of APRIL Pastor will be sharing messages about “Walking in the Fullness” Food Pantry In need of: • Spaghetti/Noodle s • Peanut Butter/Je lly • Mac & Cheese • Cornbread Mix Canned • Meat • Fruit • Pancake Mix • Sy rup • Cereal • Rice Come with an open ear, heart and mind. Each person’s talents are used to perform the tasks needed to ensure that the Home is built sound, within code specifications and will last forever. When building a house, the first thing that is created is a plan, a blueprint of the architecture of the Home. This includes the structural foundation, the various rooms square footage floor plans and electrical, sewer, and water capacity requirements. Once the blueprints are developed then the process of obtaining subcontractors for each specialty/trade begins. Each subcontractor reports to the builder on their progress and any alterations that may need to be made based on their expert knowledge. Now New Beginnings is in the process and continues to Build God’s Home. Within the building structure we have now, we are always looking for sub-contractors, that is friends, members and well-wishers to help perform the tasks needed to maintain the structure we have now and provide the services we have been tasked and challenged to perform. These tasks include up-keep of the home, bringing souls into the store house, witnessing and spreading the good news of Jesus Christ and supporting the mission of New Beginnings. As members of New Beginnings we need to step up and provide our expertise and talents to support the Home. Everyone has a talent that can be used to help the mission. God blessed us all with extraordinary skills and we are required to use those skills and talents to further the kingdom of God. As part of the family of New Beginnings you are required to use those skills and talents given to you. You are challenged to step up and use what you have been blessed with and share the talents that have been bestowed on you. With our blueprint, the Bible, you are required and accountable to build the kingdom, the Home.
