GEORGE STREET, TORONTO, ON M5S 2E8 TEL: 416-979-2468 FAX: 416-596-6920 Employment Opportunity Communications Coordinator Regular Full-time (35 hours per week) Summary of the Position: A collaborative team member reporting to the Pastor and Executive Director, the Communications Coordinator will organize, plan and implement communications strategies and infrastructure for the Newman Centre Catholic Mission at the University of Toronto. The successful candidate will promote the growth of both mission-related programs in campus ministry and fundraising activities through a variety of communication vehicles, including newsletters, brochures, posters, direct mailing materials, web-based resources, in addition to managing social media accounts, image and video libraries, and contact databases. General requirements: Post-secondary degree or diploma in communications, graphic design, marketing, public relations or media. 2-3 years experience in communications or related field, preferably in a not-for-profit or ministry environment. Ability to write compelling stories, craft engaging content, and develop branding to convey high impact for newsletters, bulletins, blogs, media releases, websites and social media platforms. Knowledge and experience in the implementation of social media strategies, tools and tracking for communication and fundraising activities. Superior interpersonal, organizational and communication skills. Working knowledge of photo, audio and video editing. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite, Constant Contact, as well as experience with website content management software. Intermediate database and analytical skills. Knowledge of Catholic Church organization & environment – able to infuse all communications with a spiritual perspective. Ability to work as a team member in a setting with tight deadlines and flexible hours.
