You will be choosing from an impressive selection of sessions designed to help you acquire the tools you need in your role as education leader in your community. For many New Jersey school leaders, this conference is THE professional development and networking event of the year. The NJASA Allied Member Display Areas are an integral part of the conference offering both new and time-tested products and services to help you and your district work more effectively. This is the perfect opportunity to acquaint you with the latest tools and best resources available in education. *SPECIAL NOTE: The waiver request for overnight lodging (2 nights) was APPROVED by the Commissioner of Education. As a result of this waiver, School Districts will be able to reimburse attendees for overnight lodging on Wednesday, May 13 and Thursday, May 14, 2015. Reimbursement for registration fees, mileage and meals, are subject to the limitations and conditions set forth by your board and the travel regulations set forth by the NJDOE. HOTEL INFORMATION: Caesars Atlantic City is the official host hotel for the 2015 NJASA/NJAPSA Annual Spring Conference. It is the responsibility of all attendees and exhibitors going to the conference to make their own hotel arrangements directly with Caesars. In 1978, while a 14-year-old high school student in Newark, New Jersey, he invented EMAIL, the world’s first email system, which was the full-scale emulation of the interoffice paperbased mail system, for which he was awarded the first US Copyright. He holds four degrees Dr. VA Shiva Ayyadurai from MIT, is a Fulbright Scholar, LemelsonMIT Awards Finalist and Westinghouse Science Talent Honors Award recipient. Born in Bombay, India, VA Shiva moved to America at the age of 7 in 1970. He completed his secondary school education at Livingston High School. He pursued his bachelors, dual master’s and doctoral degrees at MIT, spanning the fields of electrical engineering and computer science, media arts and sciences, and applied mechanics and systems biology. VA Shiva’s research on pattern recognition and large-scale systems development has resulted in multiple patents, numerous industry awards, new computational platforms such as CytoSolve, commercial products such as EchoMail and scientific and industry publications. Group Sessions Keynote Speaker: Tony Wagner Tony Wagner currently serves as an Expert in Residence at Harvard University’s new Innovation Lab. Prior to this appointment; Tony was the first Innovation Education Fellow at the Technology & Entrepreneurship Center at Harvard, and the founder and codirector of the Change Leadership Group at the Harvard Graduate School of Education Tony Wagner for more than a decade. His previous work experience includes twelve years as a high school teacher, K-8 principal, university professor in teacher education, and founding executive director of Educators for Social Responsibility. Tony is a frequent speaker at national and international conferences and a widely published author. His work includes numerous articles and five books. Tony’s latest, Creating Innovators: The Making of Young People Who Will Change the World, was published by Simon & Schuster in 2012 to rave reviews and has been translated into ten languages. His 2008 book, The Global Achievement Gap continues to be an international best seller with a Second Edition recently released.
