Rock, Paper, Scissors will be played by the captains to determine who will get the ball at the start of the game. 6. After the ball is checked, the offensive team must pass the ball in to start the possession. 7. On every change of possession (rebound or steal) the ball must be taken back behind the three-point line with a check after every possession. 8. Baskets will be worth one point each, with three-point shots worth two points. 9. Each team will be asked to supply ONE worker at the scorers table. This table will keep track of the score, fouls, and time. 10. All games will be played to 15 points or for 15 minutes of continuous clock, whichever comes first! 11. If there is a tie score, the tie will be broken by a sudden death free throw contest . 12. At all possible, a court referee will be placed at each hoop. In the case of no referee, offensive fouls will be called by the offensive’s coach and violations (traveling, double dribble, out of bounds, charging) will be called by the defensive’s coach, and there will be no arguments. Spectators and parents will not call the fouls. This is a learning process for the younger kids learning how to speak up and call the fouls and play the game the right way . The court monitor will have final say in any decisions if there is no referee. 13. After the team’s 5th FOUL, one point will be awarded to the offensive team and a change of possession will occur. This will keep games flowing with no free throws. 14. Poor sportsmanship will not be tolerated. Any swearing could result in that player being disqualified for the game or entire tournament. The court monitor will have this authority. 15. Teams are required to have one adult/parent (18 years or older) as the coach to assist with the team. 16. Parents please model good sportsmanship.
