Ultraphon Datasheet
Introduction Bradford UltraphonTM is a high quality, non-reflective black woven glass fibre decorative facing material ideally suited to aesthetic applications where the acoustic absorption properties of the bulk insulation must be maintained. High temperature duct wrap – the glass fibre construction of Ultraphon is suitable for high temperature environments Decorative acoustic panels – the black, nonreflective decorative finish of Ultraphon is ideal for visible acoustic panels and is a durable finish as well • • Product Construction Bradford Ultraphon is produced from high quality glass fabric yarns that are evenly spread across the warp and weft to produce a consistent and even woven fabric. Applications Bradford Ultraphon is typically utilised in applications where the acoustic insulation is visible and requires a decorative, non-reflective facing black facing to reduce the visual prominence of the insulation. When combined with the acoustic insulating properties of Glasswool insulation material, Ultraphon is able to maintain the broadband sound absorptive properties of the bulk insulation with good surface durability and mild puncture resistance. Typical applications for Ultraphon include the following: • Note: Ultraphon is not suitable as a vapour seal. Benefits • • • Decorative black finish – reduces the prominence of the insulation material Open weave maintains the sound absorption properties of the bulk insulation Strong, durable facing able to withstand high temperatures Bulk Insulation Base Materials Bradford Ultraphon is typically laminated with Bradford Supertel or Ultratel (sanded for decorative applications) Glasswool bulk insulation, but can be combined with any combination of Glasswool density and thickness to suit the required application. HVAC duct lining – the decorative black finish is ideal for reducing the prominence of the duct lining insulation where it may be partially exposed and is easily cleaned Acoustic Properties Base Insulation Thickness (mm) Supertel Supertel Supertel 38 50 75 Frequency Hz 125 0.14 0.20 0.35 250 0.45 0.65 1.00 500 0.96 1.00 1.00 1000 1.00 1.00 1.00 NRC 2000 0.96 1.00 1.00 4000 0.93 1.00 1.00 5000 0.94 na na 0.84 1.00 1.10 Tested in accordance with AS1045:1998 or AS/ISO 354-2006 and NRC results rated in accoradnace with ASTM C423-90A Physical Properties Weave Basic Weight (G/Sqm) Openness Factor (%) Plain 125 (Nominal) 8 Air Flow ( cm3/cm2/s under 1000kpa) Min.
