2015 Union County Guys and Gals Lead Classes Union County Fairgrounds Monday, July 27, 2015 Entry Deadline - Monday, JULY 9th, 2015 The Union County Guys and Gals Lead Competition will begin at approximately 2:30 pm following the All American Lamb Cook-Off in the Sheep Show Arena. The purpose of the competition is to showcase the versatility, durability and variety of wool fibers and fabrics used in clothing. Guidelines: 1. Sheep enthusiasts’ ages 4 through adults are encouraged to enter. Pairs Class. A class for 2 individuals. One individual must be 4 years old prior to January 1 of the current year. The other individual can be any age. Vintage Clothing Class. A class for any age entrant, to showcase the longevity and durability of wool and wool garments. Garments entered must be at least 5 yrs or older. Check your closet, attic, and thrift store for entries! Decorated Class. A class for any age entrant. Includes any decorations other than a halter on the sheep. Non-Decorator Class. A class for any age entrant. Decorations only on halter for sheep permitted. Classes will be determined after entries have been received. 2. All entrants must complete an entry form/application which is available online at the OSU Extension Service, Union County, phone 937.644.8117. Entry forms are available by mail or website. 3. Entry forms must be typed or legibly printed and received no later than - JULY 9th by mail or e-mailed to lcsullivan@embarqmail.com 4. Entrants do not have to be Union County residents. 5. The age of the contestant should be determined as of January 1 of the current year. 6. A sheep producer or breeder may sponsor entrants in classes and the participant need not own the animal shown. 7. Entrants will not be charged an entry fee. 8. Garments must contain a minimum of 60% or more wool and can be home sewn or purchased. 9. Sheep must be conditioned, fitted, and trained to show at halter. 10. Sheep must be purebred ewes or market lambs. 11. All rules and regulations established by the Union County Fairboard for livestock and exhibitor conduct will be strictly enforced. 12. Decisions of judges are final and score sheets will neither be available nor accessible. Judging: Entrants will be judged according to the following: Garment construction, style and fashion accessories 33.3 % Entrants poise, appearance and garment suitability 33.3 % Control of animal, presentation and appearance of animal 33.3 % Awards: Awards and premiums will be awarded based on participants.
