Oil & Gas Technical Data Sheet PLIOLITE DF ™ 01L KEY ADVANTAGES Latex Polymer Fluid Loss Control Additive for Oil and Synthetic Based Drilling Fluids - Provides tight fluid loss control TYPICAL PROPERTIES - Better dispersibility than powders in organic fluids, activating at low temperatures and with weak base oils PHYSICAL PROPERTIES - Contributes to low shear viscosity (even at high temperatures), reinforcing the suspension properties of the mud Activity (% by weight) Specific gravity pH Bulk density (lb/gal) Brookfield viscosity (mPa·s) (LVT #2 spindle at 60 rpm, room temperature) Moisture (%) - Recoverable in recycled drilling fluids - Safe for marine life when used as intended APPLICATIONS 0.50 CHEMICAL/MECHANICAL PROPERTIES - HTHP fluid loss control additive with secondary rheological contribution - Suitable for use in non-aqueous drilling fluids (diesel, esters, LTMO, iso-olefins) at bottomhole temperatures of 300–400 °F (149–204 °C) 40–45 1.01 8–12 8.35 <250 Mechanical stability Freeze point (°F/°C) Multivalent ion stability Foam Emulsifier Solubility in organic fluids Excellent 32/0 Excellent Low Anionic Swells in most aromatic and aliphatic base oils PROCESSING INFO •Recommended loading at 1.0–8.0 ppb •Should be added slowly under shear before the brine after emulsifier(s) has been added to the drilling fluid •Should be tested in complete fluid with fines to optimize fluid loss, plastic viscosity and high temperature, high pressure (HTHP) rheology PACKAGING, HANDLING AND STORAGE • Packaging: Tank truck, 2,200 lb (998 kg) totes & IBC, 465 lb/55 gal (211 kg/208 L) plastic drums, 72 drums in a 20 ft shipping container • Handling: Protect latex from freezing. This product is freeze-thaw stable, however best practice with any latex is to limit the number of cold cycles. Keep container(s) sealed until content is ready to be used to avoid freezing and/or introduction of bacteria. Thawed material should be tested for drilling fluid performance before use. Mildly stir (low pitch blades, 50 rpm) and mix well before using. • Storage: The recommended storage temperature is 40–120 °F (4–49 °C). For bulk storage, use stainless steel (304 or better) or plastic tanks. Minimum shelf life is 12 months when stored as recommended. • For additional information refer to the Latex Handling and Storage Guide as well as SDS documents. A SDS may be obtained by contacting your Account Manager. Drilling Fluids Market Analysis, Growth and Demand Forecast to 2020 by P&S Market Research
The global drilling fluids market is developing exponentially because of the rising worldwide vitality request, the shale blast, and deep-water drilling exercises. Attributable to exhausting coastal reserves the market is moving its center towards growing offshore areas. This expands the general cost and prompts the utilization of all the more drilling fluids which thusly creates higher income for drilling fluid producers.
