First Friday First Friday equips women with resources to positively navigate life’s challenges. First Friday Main Events, Spring 2016 First Friday meets on the first Friday of each month, September through May (except for holidays, then we meet on the second Friday). Attend with friends & make it a girl’s day out or come alone. Everyone is welcome — No RSVPs required! For real life change, connect a small group of friends and use FF messages & the authors’ books for your discussion. January 8: ‘Want to be Clutter Free?’ (Second Friday, following New Year’s Day) What is your clutter costing you? Space? Time? Energy? Money? If you’re like most women, the answer is probably all of the above. But there is hope. Discover the reasons lurking behind all your stuff and the simple steps you need to conquer your clutter, once and for all. February 5: ‘Broken by Love’ Love is the greatest force on earth and most powerful emotion shared and received. But what happens when we are broken by love? It might send us into despair, afraid to live and love again, or the experience can be redeemed. Ricky Texada knows what it means to be broken by love. Join us as he shares how God can take brokenness and turn it into something beautiful. March 4: ‘Keep It Shut’ Got words? Oh yeah, you do! The average woman speaks more than 20,000 a day. Karen Ehman shares the how-tos (and how-not-tos) of dealing with the tongue. Using biblical examples, as well as her own personal and sometimes painful stories, her messge will equip you to know what to say, how best to say it and when to just keep your lips zipped! April 1: ‘Teen Whisperer: Break Through The Rebellion of Teenage Life’ Sue Heimer helps adults understand teens. With humor, transparency and candor, the ‘Teen Whisperer’ will share her own personal story of walking with a son through rebellion. You will leave challenged, encouraged and equipped to face this turbulent time with your adolescent. May 6: ‘How God Redeems Our Suffering’ Whether or not you're in a season of hardship, what you can learn from Hannah, a real-life woman in Biblical times, is as applicable today as it was 2,000 years ago. We see her as a barren woman in the midst of tremendous pain, but she never stops pouring her heart out to God. The God who redeemed her pain is that same God today. Learn how your suffering can truly be redeemed.
